Good healthy bread, it's heavy, soft and tasty!
it's almost impossible to find good bread at reasonable prices, compared to industrials like première moisson.
Yep do recommend 100% bio, non processed whole wheat non whitened and raw.
It's also well priced, not expensive.

I am now addicted to the quality of all the breads from this bakery. Impossible to satisfy my taste anywhere else. I have to come back all the time, even if I have to drive to this place without parking....a must

I grew up in the Mile End, this bakery tastes like my childhood. I'm 30 now, and I can't drive through this side of the city without stopping for the 16 grain sourdough. The owner takes his bread seriously, he is so passionate about the quality of the flour and products he makes. Many businesses have come and gone over the years, but Capucine et Tournesol is a mainstay, an institution, and the unsung hero of what was once an affordable neighbourhood favoured by artists and "granola" types. The shop is all function no frills, the food here speaks for itself. In a neighbourhood with hundreds of trendy bakeries, cafes, and restaurants, nothing compares to a slice of his sourdough. I can eat a whole loaf straight from the bag, it is THAT good. All that nutrition for the price of sliced bread at IGA.Give his muffins a try too, they are sweetened with fruit juice. The cranberry lemon are my favourite.

This is my favourite bakery in the city. If you like good, all-natural sourdough and yeast-based breads without the bleached white flour and sugars, this is your spot. I also love the audacity of “no white flour” signs in the heart of bagel territory.

Don’t go there at the exact time they said they are open. Take your time. Give them at least half an hour, and take one of the best home-style fresh bread.

The bread is sooo good here ? bio and wholegrain and whatnot, I don't care, it's just really good bread

I stumbled upon this tiny bakery on a recent visit to Montreal. To my delight, the baker mills all his flour on site without sifting and everything is truly wholemeal (whole grain). I purchased a sourdough spelt and a rye loaf. Both had beautiful flavor and were exceptionally well made. This is bread as it was meant to be.
