Any visit to Montreal must include a trip to Le Dépanneur Café. Best café to visit friends, cozy up with a book or catch some live music. This place is an absolute staple of the Mile End (plus the coffee and baked goods are delicious!)
Recommended. The “hippie” decor is nice. Their sandwich, carrot cake, and coffee are good, and their prices are affordable.The staff is friendly and the service is excellent. The live music they play through out the day is very nice.

I give 4 stars because the place is great if you like live music and just want to have a coffee.I was quite disappointed with the kitchen. The smoked salmon bagel was really very basic and the bagel itself was very dry. The accompanying bread on the omelette was burnt and black. Quite disappointed to have waited 25 minutes for something so classic.The chai latte was good and not too strong and the atmosphere was very nice!
