First time at this amazing little French bakery on the Plateau. Different kinds of breads & pastries & sandwiches. Very good latte. Fast friendly service. We went at 10am Saturday & there was a very small line up. We sampled the crossaint, chocolatine, croque monsieur, apricots $ rasin Danish. All very good. Parking was easy on Rachel Street east. They have another location on Mont Royal street east. Will absolutely be back.
Lovely croissants! I was on a mission to find the best croissants in Montreal, and Boulangerie les co'pains d'abord came up on several lists and travel guides. It definitely lived up to its reputation -- the croissants were super flaky, buttery, and rich, and had a nice crispy outer shell. I had the chocolate croissant (my testing baseline for every new bakery), and I was quite impressed. There isn't a ton of seating inside, but if you're lucky, you can grab...
Thanks so much to the folks at Boulangerie les Co'pains d'abord as they were our breakfast destination every morning we were in Montreal. The people were lovely, the coffee was delicious, and their baked goods were absolutely terrific. Impossible to pick a favorite, but don't miss the chocolate almost croissant or the mixed fruit danish. We'll miss you!
