Best Burritos (chicken) in town!

This place is a hidden gem in the Plateau. They have a wide range of baked goods, and all day Mexican-style brunch on the weekends. The owner is very friendly and knowledgeable, and shared with us lots of information on Mexican cuisine.

Just had the chicken tostadas served with 3 different souces - delicious! My friends had the guacamole which was also very well done and watermelon and tamarind juices, terrific!Entered the café because ungry after a long walk in downtown - I honestly though it was a touristic place, but I had a surprising experience. So good to be wrong sometimes!

Great place to cool off and have a refreshing beverage or good Mexican/South American food. I really appreciate that their smoothies are not overly sweet and just taste like the fruit. Lovely!

A handy pastry counter that faces the pedestrian only portion of the street. They have many different Latin pastries that are quite fresh and fairly priced. I have tried the cinnamon cookies (2 for 1$), chocolate conchas (referred to as Mexican sweet bread, the topping is not very sweet and only had the essence of cocoa powder and the bun part is also not so sweet but it is a great coffee or tea dipper. Two of my favorite pastries are their 'breakfast' empanadas stuffed with rich thick strawberry jam ($2.50) and what I discovered are called pan de muerto with a sweet (sugar crystals) and slightly sticky topping on top of a egg bread like bread base --- they have various sizes and are not made everyday. They are a traditional bread pastry served during the dia de muertos, but again they have them more than just during that holiday celebration. I have heard they serve some excellent traditional coffees. I also saw a pic of horchata (rice based milk drink) plus the hot and cold food offerings appear to be pretty authentic too.
