I've been in a lot of places around Montreal and this one still feels young! Waiting to play pool is awful tho... The longest time, we were there for 3 hours and we never could.

They will force you to pay coatcheck if you go out to smoke! Even though you've already been admitted inside they will refuse to allow your coat. Easy cash grab I don't recommend

The only reason to go there is the pool tables (when you can get one).
Not the overpriced kitchen or bar, not the bouncers as friendly as prison doors, not the music which is much too loud when you just want to enjoy a game with friends.
But hey, these are things that many places of this type in Montreal share unfortunately.

As a fellow girl, I completely understand that being a bartender can be a challenging job, and I don’t expect anyone to be smiling all the time. However, the bartender working on November 16th was unacceptably rude for no reason. It felt like every time we asked for a drink, we were inconveniencing her, even though my friends and I were polite, consuming, and tipping. Her attitude made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.
That said, the venue itself is great, with a fantastic atmosphere and vibe. It’s just disappointing that the service didn’t match the quality of the space. I hope management takes this feedback into account because the experience could have been so much better.

I arrived with friends and the bouncer was rude following a question that we didn't hear from him (because of the noise). I quote “I feel like I’m speaking Chinese” and not in a humorous way.
Unpleasant bouncer and borderline remarks, I quote "I have the impression of speaking Chinese" when we did not understand the instructions requested the first time which were not clear.

I'm reposting in French, so that the clown who responds can understand. Honestly, anything above 2 stars is incredibly nice. We arrive for the pool, and all of a sudden they have a deposit for people, whereas for 5 years it has been an ID in exchange for the reservation and no mention of the deposit. The 4 employees who stand around chatting are as helpful as a chocolate teapot. Fitzroy is lucky to be one of the few pool halls around, and I'm super excited for that to change. It's definitely a racket, maybe because of the tacky slot machines, maybe because of something else.
