Our server helped navigate an exceptional menu and wine list with ease! Everything was prepared exceptionally. We had the impression the restaurant can loud, but that was not our experience at all

Service was impeccable. We sat at the bar - the bartender (David) was knowledgeable, friendly, excellent. He seemed too be the busiest person in the restaurant, yet always had a moment to check on us - I have no complaints - our meal was superb - although I might say the desert was "ordinary" while our entree and main courses were superb - I had the swordfish, my wife the black cod. A bit pricey, yet, the ambience, service and flavourful meal give reason for this.

What a truly fabulous experience at Garde MangerWe had the 6 course tasking menu consisted ofAmuse-Bouche was a fried lobster pogo, topped with sturgeon caviar and tangy tartar sauceFresh and vibrant raw bar of razor clams, oysters, salmon, shrimpBeef carpaccio with freshly grated truffles and Parmesan, aggressively seasoned and equally addictive.Octopus, perfectly grilled, paired with a medley of vegetables, tangy herbs and splash of vinegarBitter greens and cabbage salad with caraway seeds, I really like this salad and found it added a nice touch of lightness to the bold and rich flavours of the other courses.Cacio e pepe pasta, I forget which pasta specifically which only further lends itself to the opinion that it was just ok, not bad at all but just ok. I found the pasta to be a bit tough, still tasty though.Potato gratin, oozing with a blend of what felt like 5 different cheeses. Very well seasoned and creamy.Roasted lamb, caramelized in all the right spots with a savoury sauce on the side.Dessert was a combination or two desserts ; apples and cinnamon / chocolate tartBoth very good and not overly sweet. They felt decadent but not heavy.Coffee and drinks were just as delectable and tasty as what you would expect from all the amazing food we enjoyed at Garde Manger. The music and atmosphere was super cozy and charming, it was where I would want to be on a snowy Tuesday night in the Old Port of Montreal.

I've been wanting to go here for a few years and it did not disappoint. We covered good ground on the menu: cocktails, a few appetizers to share, mains and a bottle of wine then cappuccinos with dessert. Every single dish brought to the table exceeded expectations. We enjoyed the explanations and descriptions from very courteous and knowledgeable staff who demonstrated great attention throughout the night. Definitely an experience to remember. Worth the trip for us coming in from Ottawa.

This is simply one of the best restaurants in Montreal. The menu is broad but leans heavily towards fish and seafood. That said my table enjoyed the beef carpaccio and a lamb shoulder along with oysters, muscles, shrimp and a number of other wonderful dishes that were part of the chef's menu. Do keep in mind that at Garde Manger, that if you opt for the chef's menu as we did there will be a lot of food; this isn't a series of small bites. Portions are generous but you will find yourself trying not to leave the tiniest morsel behind.

Really amazing service. Absolutely stunning. Attention to details is incredible. This makes the whole experience way over expectations. Food is good towards very good. Portions are small, but tasty. Not to die for , but again, very good. Not cheap. Good wine and cocktails variety. Verdict : give it a try.

Very tasty food with a cute small atmosphere. A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. I’d recommend the lamb, tender and delicious.

Very disappointed in our dinner. Three of us ate for over $500.00 and we only liked the wine.I was super excited about this visit and what a flop.dishes looked beautiful but taste and execution were way off. We sent food back, and didn't eat others dishes.. the octopus was chewy and my coworker asked for a steak knife and the server didn't ask if any questions as to why.

Amazing service by Lloris at the bar. Hands down one of TOP 3 waiters in Montreal. From A to Z , impeccable. Attention to details from the other waiters are amazing too. Food was very good. Not crazy good, but very good. Prices are on the higher side, therefore I say that for what you pay and what you get. There is a bit of a difference. Big wine list. By the glass choices as well. A few cocktails available as well. The restaurant itself is on the older side decoration, but still very nice. Toilets are very clean aND smell good.
