The last time I ate at Gibby's was with my parents in the 1970s! I am happy to say the food, ambiance, and service are still top notch. We ordered 2 "non steakhouse" entres and they were excellent! Our server, Cynthia, was friendly and efficient and added to the wonderful experience. We won't wait 40 years to return! 😆

Alex was a great waiter. He showed the traditional way to eat bread with sour cream, bacon bits and pickles!! We had beef Wellington, wedge salad and asparagus and stuffed potato. Excellent.

Gibby's restaurant will never disappoint. Wait staff were very experienced and attentive. The steak and onion soup as always was fantastic and the halibut was good. I would like to try the salmon next time. It is fine dining and a great place for a celebration or intimate dinner,

The service was average, nice waiter and hostess but they all lacked polish. The steaks are expensve but in my opinion are not worth the price. Mine was undercooked and had a lot of fat depsite being a sirloin. My partner's was dry. All in all, it was a bit of a disapointment

Our server was great! I loved my ribeye as did one other person in our party. My husband was a little disappointed with his ribeye and thought it was too tough and it cooked through enough. We realize it's difficult to get things right all the time though. Love the value of adding in the salads and sides with the steak. Makes everything easy. Wind recommendation was spot on. Ambience is beautiful given that it used to be a horse stable. All in all a very pleasant evening

Steak and fish were good. Side dishes were so-so. Waiter recommended a brandy pour over for the sherbet, which we accepted, not realizing until we got the bill that it was 20CAD for the privilege. Then when paying the waiter pushed the "pay in U.S.$" button on the machine, which added a 5% fee, without asking. We wanted to pay in $CAD and it took 20+ minutes for them to correct things.

Jeremy was an excellent waiter! Friendly and made good recommendations based on questions we asked. He made the great food even more enjoyable with his attention to detail and wanting to make sure we were well taken care of. He also makes a get Brazilian coffee! Fun to watch the process. I took my 90 year old dad with a wheelchair for an early dinner, hostess was very accommodating for a window seat so we could put the wheelchair against it. Nobody was in the restaurant maybe two tables and the waitress at first was very rude and said can you move to a different table in the middle of the restaurant and I said absolutely not there’s nobody here and my dad is blind and in a wheelchair. After that, she was very accommodating and very nice and I tipped her well. Food was delicious! I have been going there since I was a little girl. I always go when I come visit once a year.

For the price you pay for the meal you'd expect much better service. Not that our waitress was slow it just that she had too many tables to take care of They need to hire more staff. I was disappointed in the overall experience, coming from Texas, I was told it was a finest steakhouse in Old Montreal but I didn't think so.
