Homard Fou - Bistro Français

Stumbled here on a long weekend night while looking for an after dinner snack. Everywhere else was full or had over 1 hour waits.The service was fast and friendly however the food was not great and hugely overpriced. Calamari appetizer was decent and came with a salad. The mussel and fries was not good (very plain, no flavour) and had an odd smell to them. The amount of fries was miniscule.It seems like this place relies on busy pedestrian street walk-in traffic when all the well-known restaurants are full.

I love this place. I never been in this place. I am doing a virtual tour through Montreal. And I find this place in lively Montreal Plaza. I love to visit Homare when I am travelling there physically.

I was lucky not to read the reviews till I sat down and had a beer. By that time it didn't seem right to get up and leave so me and my wife ordered the food(seafood linguini and shrimp). the food portion was good service was great and the price you pay more for the great location

Food was not half bad, but way over priced for the portion that was given. Would never return for that sole reason. Felt like I was eating a kids' meal

Not serving evening dessert without ordering main dish???

Health Hazard!My cocktail shrimps were at a "hot summer day" temperature and tasted disgusting. They must have been left out of the fridge for several hours, presumably to thaw.I politely and discretely told the waiter who took my plate out.He brought me a new plate 15 minutes later.On that plate, 2 of the 3 shrimps were cold on the outside, but very warm at the center. The waiter had taken the shrimps I complained about, put them in the fridge a few minutes and handed them back to me! The 3rd shrimp was worse - it was in the same condition as my first plate, at room temperature and hadn't even been put in a fridge at all.I am not exagerating - they weren't just a bit warm. They had turned and tasted funky. They must have been out of the fridge for hours on a hot summer day.The reviewers who mention Kitchen Nightmares were not kidding. That place is a human health hazard and I'm just hoping I won't get sick now.

The best seafood restaurant ever

Had to send the horrendous soup back, do not recommend this place to anyone. The place could be in an episode of kitchen nightmares for sure.

This is not the place for having good dinner.Price is not reasonable yet taste is not the level of food service. Robster's sause is too salty, french fries are just use frozen food as less delicious than Mcdonald,All plates were not heated so foods were going to pretty hard and ofcourse cold soon. Restroom's lock is not easy for locking also not clensed.

Not recommended at all..Staff are friendly but when it comes to atmosphere and food. Absolutely terrible..Took more than 1 hour to get the food, when it finally came it was close to uneatable.

Over priced as you might expect. The portion of the food was extremely small. We had fish and chips with soup. The soup was literally 6-7 spoons and we got only one fillet as a fish and chips dish.

I ordered a martini with olives after being told they had a full bar. It came back warm, just gin with no olives. I had martinis at other restaurants in Montreal and they were shaken and cold: perfect. I got the surf and turf with 1/2 a lobster and filet mignon. The lobster claw was so dried out it was hard. The appetizers were very good and the service was also very good. I think the lobster was prepared hours earlier and it was just reheated. It was also a very small lobster. Summary: drinks were not good, lobster not good. Great service and appetizers.
