“Updating my review after the restaurant followed up with us about our previous experience. I really appreciate that they took the time to check in and listen to our feedback. It made me feel a lot better and showed that they genuinely care about their customers’ experiences.

During the follow-up visit, a manager in particular provided excellent service. He was very attentive, checked in with us, and made sure everything was going well. That level of care really helped turn the experience around for us.

Because of the follow-up and the great service we received, the whole experience felt redeemed. I truly appreciate the effort they made, and it made me want to come back again.

I had one of the worst service experiences I have ever had at Haidilao.

We arrived around 4:30 PM, and since the AYCE offer ends at 5:00 PM, we simply wanted to ask whether we were still eligible. When we asked the staff member at the front desk, she did not answer our question at all. She just kept looking down at his iPad and then turned to help other customers. We felt completely ignored.

After we were seated, no one came to explain the available combos or assist us. We had to raise our hands and ask before someone finally came over.

Even when all the dishes were served, no one gave us aprons. Once again, we had to ask for them ourselves.

What made the experience even worse was that, in the middle of our meal, a server suddenly put a bowl on our table without us asking for them or explaining anything. It felt random and confusing. On top of that, the meat we ordered took an extremely long time to arrive. By the time it finally came, we had already finished eating. A server then brought over a plate of meat and said it was ours, but at that point we were already done. It was honestly so frustrating and speechless.

This experience was completely different from the level of service Haidilao is known for. Compared to our previous visits, the service this time was disorganized, inattentive, and extremely disappointing. Definitely one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had.“

“I adore Malatang so I might be a little biased, but I loved this place. You grab a bowl, load up on the assorted selection of ingredients, and then the price is calculated by weight. Though it does look like they have combo options too.

This place had a wide selection of ingredients, there was plenty of options! We ordered the spicy beef broth, and it was very rich and flavorful with a nice kick to it. The only thing that I would say is that some of the veggie items didn't look particularly fresh.

The staff was also super nice, offering to explain how ordering works and show you the ropes. Overall, very enjoyable, delicious experience and a fun and unique way to eat! We felt very fulfilled leaving this place.“
