Amazing afghani restaurant! Delicious food, fantastic service, authentic and interesting decor. Our waiter was the most delightful young man and we were able to talk about our Persian connection. We ordered the mantoo to start, kofta, and chicken kabob. Everything was delicious, seasoned/spiced perfectly, and very filling. Will definitely come back again.

The table d'hôte is perfect for a first visit. We combined a table d'hôte 1 and a table d'hôte 2 to only have one starter to share. The portions are huge.Everything was good. Favorite for mashaba soup (beef and noodles) and mantoo (leek dumplings with meat sauce and yogurt).Very efficient service, but a little too hasty (no rest time between services). Bonus: we can bring our own wine.

Great BYOB restaurant :) I recommend the table d'hôte menus! I had the homemade lentil soup (very garlicky and delicious), the pumpkin borani as a starter, the lamb dish as a main course (delicious!!). It ends with tea and a rose and pistachio pudding which I didn't like though. The atmosphere is great, it's not too noisy so we can hear each other talking, and the food is generous :D I left with leftovers.

I went to Khyber Pass about ten years ago and had very good memories of it. I hate to give negative reviews, but here, it seems important to me to counterbalance the overly positive reviews. No complaints about the ambiance and the service was what it was. The food, on the other hand, would be enough to enrage a Gordon Ramsey and would have made a good episode of Kitchen Nightmares. There is no love and passion in this food. It lacks soul, taste, spices and freshness. It's reheated and the ingredients are not well chosen. We are not very far from Casa Grecque but less well seasoned. The gargantuan portions of the main meals are off-putting, especially when you realize, once you're hungry, that it's not very good after all. Waste is inevitable. If the owners are reading these lines, my advice would be to completely review the menu, to invest in quality rather than quantity. We would have happily paid a little more if the quality had been there. Unfortunately no one from our group plans to return (unless things change).
Do not miss out on the Kabuli Palaw (lamb shank). We also loved the Borani eggplant and the lentil soup.

The restaurant is overpriced for what it is offering. Seems to be clean with good food however, I would not say tasty. I personally did not like it much, don’t think is value for money and would not go there again or recommend.

Afghan food is the most fragrant I know. It’s truly a change of scenery for the taste buds. I recommend the lamb skewers. They were excellent. The rice which is very fragrant is literally sublime. The only weak point that has nothing to do with the restaurant is parking. We are on Duluth Street so you have to know the pitfalls of the city of Montreal.
