delicious food and fantastic service.The portions can really be split in two!You know it's on the finer side of dining when they change utensils and plates when changing courses, lol.The vibe is cool but just a bit squishy from the larger sized furniture and only 2 washrooms (granted that the bathroom situation is standard in Montréal).
There were 4 of us...we had dishes to share...the beef tongue and foie gras on a buckwheat crouton, as a starter...it was divine!! Then we continued with the pig's trotters and foie gras, a pure marvel in the mouth and the tagine...really disappointed with this last dish, we had the impression of eating perfume, it seemed as if the chef had dropped his pot of wine. Friends had recommended/demanded I go to Au Pied de Cochon when I visited Montréal and they were not wrong - this was just a fabulous night. Could not fault it on anything - food, wine, service, atmosphere or price. I had excellent veal sweetbreads, snow crab mapo tofu & the devastating Pouding chômeur as well - totally full but so worth it.
