“We had a lovely evening at Foxy last evening from the moment we were greeted to when we left. We sat at the bar where Enzo made sure we were comfortable and well informed of the items on the menu as well as the freshness of the products sources locally.
He made very well informed wine suggestions to maximise the enjoyment of our meal. The beef tartare is the best, we order this regularly in others restaurants, that we have had. The caveleti with clams was a dish to crave enough to be back for another visit.
Thank you for a wonderful meal.
Now i wish i could remember the name of the book Enzo recommended…“

“Stopped by the pied de porc farci a couple weeks ago on a quiet Tuesday evening and the whole place still had this warm, slightly chaotic energy that made for great candid shots. The duck in a can they prepare tableside is as rich as everyone says, and I managed to snag a nice low angle photo of the broth being poured right at the table. Our server was genuinely funny and patient while I fiddled with my camera settings between courses, never once rushing us. The dark wood interior and low lighting are tough for photos but honestly add so much character to the whole experience.“

“What a fabulous dining experience. The menu is quite abstract, so it is perfect for any adventurous eaters. The atmosphere was great, it’s a really beautiful vibe. What made this place a 5/5 was the outstanding service. Our server Jasmine was a dream; she was knowledgeable, attentive and incredibly kind! Every member of the team that came to our table was just as courteous and gracious as we asked our many questions. Overall an excellent experience. Do yourself a favor and get the carrot cake!!“

“Tucked away at the back of a church this restaurant is truly a hidden gem. We sat at the chefs table and were able to see all the food being prepared and ask the chefs more details about the food. We had the wine pairing menu which was excellent. Our server was very accommodating as one of the wines was not to our taste and they quickly replaced it with an excellent choice. The flavours in each course were delicious and made want to savour every bite. We will definitely be returning to Restaurant Candide again.“

“Toque has become an unforgettable dining experience. The food is absolutely outstanding. Each dish was plated well and every ingredient used created a depth of flavor and textures. If you plan on visiting, don’t skip on the tasting menu. I highly recommend dining here and experiencing it to its full potential. The service was also great. My only critique would be that the servers could be a bit more engaging. Will be returning!“

“one of the best restaurants in montreal. food was delicious and service was top notch. highly recommend doing family style to try as many dishes as possible. we were 2 and took 6 plates and some bread on the side, no regrets, everything was excellent!! we had the first 3 temakis on the menu, lamb, trout gravlax, beef tartare, biang biang noodle and the special which was the surf and turf and it was DELICIOUS!!“

“Stopped by for a late lunch on Saturday and ended up staying almost two hours just taking in the room, the exposed brick and soft light made it perfect for some quick phone shots between courses. The sweetbreads were the highlight of the meal, crispy outside and so tender inside that I almost forgot to photograph it before digging in. Our server noticed my camera bag and offered to seat us near the window for better natural light, which honestly made the whole visit feel more personal. Already thinking about going back next weekend to try the tasting menu and get a few more shots of that open kitchen.“

“Lively place that’s quite busy on a Sunday morning. Got a place at the bar but managed to move to a table close to the window. The waiter was a bit hectic as he was running around all the time while the other waiters took it more relaxed which creates a nicer atmosphere. Anyway - maybe that’s his personality… the food arrived after a few minutes - was good not really a wow moment. The filter coffee doesn’t taste at all so let’s wish for other coffee styles to have a taste. Overall ok experience - no need to repeat (at least for me)“

“I somehow managed to be given the best seat in the house: next to the kitchen, and right next to the chef, Josh Crowe. The experience of sitting at the bar allowed me to better appreciate the inner workings of this 30-year old establishment. The staff were as kind and supportive of each other, as they were to the guests, who filled the restaurant, bar, and terrace on this warm May evening. I observed Chef Josh and co-owner Barbara Irwin continuously interacting with each staff member. I had never witnessed such a high level of communication, where information flowed seamlessly from the front of the restaurant to the kitchen and vice versa. My meal began with a great cocktail and was followed by a glass of Spanish red, which paired very well with the best pork chop that I have ever had. The 3-inch thick chop was perfectly cooked and the complex flavours of the dish melted together harmoniously. It has been a few years since my last meal there, but I will be back shortly to enjoy the social sidewalk terrace, which offers the best in NDG people watching. You may decide to go to the Tavern for the food, cocktails, and wine list, but you will also be treated to the culture that Barbara & Josh have established over the past decade. They have created something special and seem fully committed to maintaining the same high level of culinary experience and appreciation for their patrons. My overall impression of the Monkland Tavern is one highlighting a collaborative team approach, effective two-way communication, a concentrated attention to every detail of the dining experience, professional courtesy, and mutual respect. I was impressed and you surely will be too.“

“What an exquisite atmosphere! I could hardly tell the difference form this restaurant from the actual cave i visited in Afghanistan when i was 12 years old. They served me a samosa that was an absolute delicacy. I prefer these samosas to the indian ones!!! The servers were incredibly polite despite the fact i do not understand arabic! 10/10!“

Les lieux sont ultra propres, incluant la salle de bain. Le service était impeccable et rapide. James fait le tour de tous les clients sur place pour s'assurer que tout est bon. We were welcomed by Fred who welcomed and led us to our table . Loved everything about this spot. The food was delicious, and the service was wonderful. Our waitress Catherine was super nice, helped us navigate the menu, and checked on us often to ensure everything was perfect. It’s rare to find such attentive and friendly service these days.

“If I could put 10 stars for the service, the food and the atmosphere, I would. It was an incredible experience. The young woman who looked after our table really went the extra mile. I’ve rarely experienced such excellent service and she gave sound advice. Unfortunately, I don’t know her name, but she works on Friday evenings. I’d like to thank her again. She managed to turn our evening into an exceptional experience.

So, I highly recommend this restaurant for its choice of dishes and cocktails, its originality, the warm welcome we received and the friendliness of the staff. Moreover, the prices were affordable.“

“Meilleur brunch de Montréal ! Exceptionnel, j’ai pris l’assiette du Caribou et une assiette sucrée (gaufre, brioche perdue…) tout est local et fait maison. “This small ice cream shop gets very busy at night. There are no seats, so it is a strict grab-and-go spot. I think the place is okay. The flavors are nothing special, but they have a lot of options on the menu. They have frozen custard and many fruit sorbets, so there is something for everyone. The best part was the staff. They were very friendly and nice, even though it was crowded. It is a good spot to walk by and grab a quick sweet treat.“
