“Toujours excellent depuis ses premiers jours jusqu’à ce jour!“

“I was excited to go to Joe Beef with my son, since we both had been hearing great things about the place for years. Upon entry, we were warmly greeted by several of the staff as we walked through the restaurant to our bar seat. I always try to sit at the bar since you can chat with the staff, as they cook or prepare drinks. The service was outgoing and helpful, and the atmosphere was charming and cozy. We started with the escargot, which were great, but the butternut squash soup was absolutely spectacular, and by far the best thing of the entire meal. After that, we had the duck, and the lobster pasta, which came highly recommended. The duck dish was succulent, apparently “free range” which gave it a bit of a gamey taste, and it came with a gorgeous savoury sauce which included delicious duck hearts. Unfortunately, the lobster claw, (still in its shell), that came with the pasta was a little off, not exactly fresh, but the other parts of the lobster were great. We finished off with the “Profiteroles Poire & Chocolat”, an ice cream, pear, cookie and chocolate dessert. As I understand it, the ice cream was homemade which helped make it a wonderful dessert. All in all, we had a great time, but I have to say that the food was good, but not the kind of “blow your mind amazing” that I hope for from a high-end restaurant.“

“I would have to say that this was absolutely one of the best meals we’ve ever had!!! We started with a plate of Oysters that were perfect! We had the Arctic Char for 2 with a side of Gnocchi and Caesar salad the fusion of flavour in the sauce on the Char was heavenly. The fish was done to perfection!! The Gnocchi was unlike any we had ever had and the herb oil drizzle highlighted the perfect texture and flavour of the gnocchi. The deconstructed Caesar was perfect!! We finished the meal off with the Maple Creme Brûlée. The entire staff were friendly supportive and knowledgeable from the moment we walked in!! C’est Manifique!! Bravo!!!“

“We went out for dinner last night with friends and had the best time! First, it had to be one of the best meals I have eaten out in a long time. Everything was delicious! From the scallops, the fois gras breakfast sandwich, steak frites, cod and the incredible sourdough bread and butter (ordered it twice), we savoured every bite. Then the dessert after was the cherry on top! I have to say thank you so much to Cece (sorry if I spelled it wrong), she made our night so relaxed and memorable. The way she describes the food and the joy in her face made our night! She loves the food as much as we got to enjoy it. Incredible food, amazing staff and an all around wonderful evening. We can’t wait to come back over and over again. All the best!“

“My wife and I had a fantastic evening here on Friday. It has a warm atmosphere that made us want to stay much longer than we would have normally. The food was exquisite, and a good value for the quality provided. The wine list was extensive, featuring wines from several French regions, as well as some from Italy, Spain, US, and Canada. The servers were attentive, speaking French and English, and there was a sommelier on staff to help with the wine. The plates weren’t overly large, but we were quite filled after three courses, wine, and an aperitif. We are definitely coming back the next time we’re in town.“

“Busy and lively cafe with a good atmosphere in Old Montreal. I ordered an americano which was tasty; more of a traditional Italian espresso blend. For food I ordered the Lac Brome which was decent but not anything spectacular. I found that it lacked a bit of flavour. The server was very professional and friendly! I would come back here but to try another item off of the menu.“

On the occasion of Montréal à table 2024 the server suggests sharing the dishes we agree except that the portions are small to share but correct if not sharing difficult to have complete/perfect bites. Tasty sea urchin pannacota but the beetroot starter was too vinegary. Leg of deer not tender. Tasty chocolate mousse. Canelés as well as small choux pastry offered with the compliments of the house. The accompaniment of the correct wines makes the Chablis of Malandes unforgettable. My last visit more than 10 years ago, the next time there is no rush“

“My experience at Maison Boulud was incredible. My friend and I were visiting Montreal and wanted a Michelin-quality dinner. MB had no reservations but they were kind enough to seat us at the bar. I actually loved sitting at the bar because the bartender and the sommelier were both so fun and passionate about their work. Every course was phenomenal and the wine pairings elevated the experience. Toward the end, I was feeling so full, but the pre-dessert course hacked my digestive system and made me feel not full almost immediately. It was a really cool trick. It's been several months and I'm still thinking about my dinner there. I highly recommend you check it out if you're in Montreal.“

“Really beautiful Parisian brasserie. The atmosphere is pleasant (even if the table neighbors were particularly noisy). The welcome is particularly warm and the service impeccable.
I wish my burger was more spicy. The only downside is the strong smell of tobacco which crosses the “Smoking” floor and spreads throughout the restaurant.“

“Tucked away at the back of a church this restaurant is truly a hidden gem. We sat at the chefs table and were able to see all the food being prepared and ask the chefs more details about the food. We had the wine pairing menu which was excellent. Our server was very accommodating as one of the wines was not to our taste and they quickly replaced it with an excellent choice. The flavours in each course were delicious and made want to savour every bite. We will definitely be returning to Restaurant Candide again.“

“Mixed review. Space is charming. Hot chocolate varieties are great. Service was hit & miss. Crepe delivered without cutlery. Waited to flag staff to ask for cutlery; had to wait again for cutlery. Crepe got cold in the meantime. Hot chocolate delivered after the crepe. When paying, the cashier had to search for my bill. Hope they sort out their service.“

L'équipe est vraiment sympathique et à l'écoute. Le service est rapide et les cocktails sont délicieux et super beaux. Ils ont même des options sans alcool pour satisfaire tout le monde.

La cuisine y est délicieuse et magnifiquement présentée par leurs staff de cuisine qui prennent le temps de soigner nos assiettes. Des options végétariennes sont même disponibles.
J'ai eu un coup de cœur pour leur poêlée de champignons et leurs desserts savoureux.

Je recommande vivement que ce soit pour un groupe ou une personne seule, impossible de s'ennuyer, l'ambiance et le décor sauront vous charmer.

“One of my favorite hotels ever!! Right in the heart of old Montreal, and a short walk to everything that Old Montreal has to offer. It sits on a beautiful cobblestone street, and is in an old, historic building. The rooms were beautiful, with windows that open to let in some great fresh air. I loved their little breakfast, which consisted of different breads each day, spread, cheese, and some cold pressed local juice. Just a top notch experience, and affordable too!“

“After reading some negative reviews I wasn’t sure what to expect . However the service, food and food presentation was exceptional! We eat around the globe but this restaurant really stood out . We had the restaurants anniversary dinner and it was so good ! Table side they flambé the excellent steak ! Before that a in house baked bread was brought with churned butter . Attention was giving to fill our sparkling water or anything else we needed. Dessert was so yummy and besides the chocolates and mouse they brought out cotton candy it looked like it was a tree . All in all a very pleasant experience despite the fact they were super busy . The price for dinner was reasonable considering the service and super food we had !“
