“I had really high expectations for Restaurant Monarque and was hoping it would completely blow me away. While the food was delicious, the overall experience fell just slightly short of what I would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. Service was the main area that didn’t quite meet expectations. After being seated, we waited about 10 minutes before receiving menus and had to ask for them. Throughout the meal, interactions felt a bit rushed - several staff members who stopped by the table were somewhat brief, and on a few occasions, items like bread or water were dropped off while we tried to ask questions, but the busser had already walked away. That said, the restaurant was quite busy during lunch, so it’s possible the pace and attentiveness were impacted by that. As for the food, we ordered the albacore tuna appetizer along with the strip loin, butcher’s cut, and duck for our mains. Everything was well-prepared, though the duck portion was noticeably small. Desserts were a highlight - especially the pavlova with maracuya, which was excellent. Our server Laura was professional, though not very engaging until the very end of the meal when we were settling the bill. I would still return, as the food is strong, but I have to say that Bar George left a more lasting impression on us in terms of both food and service.“

“We were at the Brossard location. 9am Saturday, no waiting line. Nice, dynamic ambiance. Tables distribution excellent, not to close each other, places for solo, couples and groups. The attendants were very polite and well informed. Prices are competitive. They are different, with their own style. Not mass coffee serving, good quality of ingredients. Presentation of plates need improvement. I'll go back.“

“This is the place for hazy NE ipa's not only in Canada but everywhere. These beers did not disappoint. Wish we had more time here. The staff was super friendly and don't miss the food. Had the poutine excellent as well.

The courtyard and inside are cozy and a great spot to enjoy some of the best beer I have ever had in Canada. I rank them right up there with TreeHouse, and that says it all. These guys know their beers. Brought a 4 pack of their sour back for my wife who loved that as well.

I am already planning another trip to go back.“

Order it medium old fashioned and thank me later! Staff has been there a long time and is always pleasant switching between French and English seamlessly. “Got the iced maccha pumpkin spice latte, and the lox on toast. It was as expected, I love lox on toast. The interior was really unique, like vintage but stylish.

The only reason why I gave it a 4 star is because it does take quite a bit to wait in line to enter, since it’s in a touristy spot. And it’s not guaranteed you’ll get a spot to sit, you only find out after you order, you can’t go save your spot first before ordering.“

From what I understand, they rent the facility to do their roasting, and then sell their beans here, as well as at their cafes. Naturally, the place smells amazing! I had an espresso and an Americano to go. Both were excellent. The biscuits/scones are the best I’ve had in a long time…especially the plain ones with fresh cream and jam. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about all their products. The location is close to a path along the canal…a perfect stop during a bike ride or walk. Looking forward to my next visit!“

Not only was the atmosphere awesome, super relaxed with games, (pinball machines!!) and cool artwork, the beer was delicious! They have several European styles to balance the ipa’s on the menu and we loved everything we tried. The cream ale was my favorite and my wife loved the winter warmer. We chatted with the staff and other patrons and they were all extremely friendly and helpful, they gave us food recs and made us feel very welcome! We will definitely visit again!“
