Monarque Reviews
I had really high expectations for Restaurant Monarque and was hoping it would completely blow me away. While the food was delicious, the overall experience fell just slightly short of what I would expect from a restaurant of this caliber.
Service was the main area that didn’t quite meet expectations. After being seated, we waited about 10 minutes before receiving menus and had to ask for them. Throughout the meal, interactions felt a bit rushed - several staff members...read full review
Service impeccable. Décor très chaleureux et Nourriture vraiment exceptionnelle. Tout les plats étaient savoureux !
The food (taste, selection, portioning, presentation ) is top notch. Service from the moment you enter the establishment, to the server, is excellent! It is obvious that lot of thought was pit into the menu and a lot of training and expectation were placed on the shoulders of the cooks, managers and servers. Will return on my next visit to Montreal . Thank you Monarque!

Monarque in Montreal offers a wonderful dining experience with excellent service, food, and wine. The restaurant features a beautiful, twinkling interior that creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. The bouillabaisse and steak frites are popular main choices, and the restaurant is known for its great drinks, including a memorable martini made with gin from a local Quebecois micro-distillery. The desserts are a highlight, with the passion fruit pavlova and maple crème brûlée receiving high praise. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, making it a great spot for all ages. Guests should not miss the incredible chocolate layered cake for dessert. The restaurant combines a charming old-world feel with modern touches, making every plate feel carefully crafted and special.
The food is amazing, with the duck confit and the bone marrow with snail being standout dishes. The cauliflower side is surprisingly good, with a well-balanced taste of saltiness, sourness, and a hint of dairy. The Paris xxx dessert is also highly recommended. The service is warm and professional, and the wine list is top-notch. Monarque is a must-try destination in Old Montreal.
