Bad experience at lunch time. The service was really slow and we were poorly served by an arrogant waiter. I had to leave with my dish in a bag to bring.

I was looking forward to trying this restaurant because a lot of people told me about it but I will admit that I was disappointed: they do what many other French brasseries in Montreal do, but not as good.I think it's good for tourists who come to eat in the old place but locals have access to similar restaurants with better execution. The marrow bone was not well seasoned and I asked for a medium rare flank steak and even after sending it back to the kitchen for better cooking, it was the same: the waiter was very kind and made sure that the cooking was good and I told him that it was still missing cooking but I did not want to return my dish a third time: the person who accompanied me was ready for his dessert. Oh and error on my bill: check your bills before paying, I had an extra glass of wine charged to me.Too bad, so much potential in this beautiful setting.

Delightful, succulent bouillabaisse, combined with sublime service.

Me and my friends came to Montreal for the first time. We drove all the way from Toronto to get here for this restaurant. The restaurant was actually really well designed and the atmosphere was alright and food tastes decent . However as soon as we sat down at the table, we got this strange vibe coming from our waitress. All four of us are Chinese and we were the only four Asian at the restaurant at the time and we really want to experience the Quebec French food. During the first 20 minutes into the dinner. The French couple at the table next to us are keep staring at us and giving us a really weird look while talking in French making us very uncomfortable. One of my friend asked the waitress why are they keep looking at us and to our surprise this waitress told us to “stop screaming! You’re making the others uncomfortable, please be quiet.” It’s very surprising that the waitresses are this poorly trained in this restaurant and did not even listen to us when we are trying to explain the situation to her. 5 minutes later, the waitress went to the couples next table and starts apologizing to them in French. One of our friend understands French and the waitress was saying something like “I’m so sorry that you have to sit next to them, if they are making you uncomfortable, we can change your seat” I’m not exactly sure how we are making them uncomfortable when the whole time they are staring at us and making very weird look on their face.Overall our first day experience at Montreal was terrible. We are not going to revisit the restaurant again in the future.

The service was time-to-time kind of questionable compares to other fine dining restaurants. Though, the atmosphere was overall great. On the other hand, the foods that I ordered (Seafood Bouillabaisse, Duck Confit, and passion fruit pavlov) were not that outstanding (i.e., there wasn’t any WOW factor).

I had dinner with a friend at this restaurant last week. I had one of the best meals of my life! Everything was perfect : the food, the service and the wine.

I have never had such an arrogant waiter in my life, he clearly hates his job. It's unfortunate to come to a high end restaurant and receive such terrible service. The food was good, small portions, fine dining type of idea, except for this price there is way better fine dining in Montreal.Pretty big restaurant so I question if everything is fresh. Other reviewer expressed a bartender licking a spoon and making drinks many times, if its true, that is pretty insane for a restaurant like yours. Hopefully you put in place a hygiene standard for your staff.

The service was very slow and not friendly. When telling the server and the manger, they both tried to justify why it is normal for the main dish to be delayed by almost an hour because they make the order at the kitchen after all guests finish their appetizers. The food is overpriced, tiny portion and over salted.

Excellent, been to the brasserie a few times and keep coming back. Stand outs are the octopus, mushroom gnocchi and lobtser farro risotto. Steak and fries, sausage and duck confit are very good. Dishes are not large but are elevated by their consistant and excellent execution, the seafood and meat are always super tender. Place is open everyday and generally very busy, can get a bit loud.

Exceptional experience. An excellent restaurant with a varied menu and a nice wine and cocktail list. The trout tartare was perfect, definitely the best I've eaten. The veal cheek was divine. To try at least once.
