“This was, without a doubt, our favorite restaurant in Montreal. From the moment we arrived, we loved the atmosphere—warm, welcoming, and with a cozy, family-like feel that immediately made us feel at home.
The service was exceptional. Everyone on the staff was attentive and friendly throughout the entire experience, but we would especially like to thank Morgan, who took incredible care of us. We decided to try something different and asked her to choose everything for us, from the appetizer all the way to dessert, without telling us what dishes would be coming to the table. It made the experience even more special and exciting.
Every dish that arrived was a surprise. Not only was the presentation impeccable, but the flavors were outstanding. Honestly, it was one of the best meals we’ve had in a very long time.

“Tucked away at the back of a church this restaurant is truly a hidden gem. We sat at the chefs table and were able to see all the food being prepared and ask the chefs more details about the food. We had the wine pairing menu which was excellent. Our server was very accommodating as one of the wines was not to our taste and they quickly replaced it with an excellent choice. The flavours in each course were delicious and made want to savour every bite. We will definitely be returning to Restaurant Candide again.“

“We came here with our two toddlers for an early dinner and were so impressed. It seems to be run with great care and love. Ambiance was perfect - like a kid friendly pub…not too noisy, just the right amount of lighting. Our booth was cozy and roomy at the same time. Enough space for the kiddos to move around and be comfy but still keep them secure. The food was just delicious but it also felt thoughtful and made with love. Bathrooms were pristine and even had a kids step stool. I love this place and it wins as my new go-to family restaurant. Bonus for the amazing beer selection. Great service and super kind staff. A true gem.“

It’s in a great location—about a 15-minute walk to Old Montreal—with convenient underground parking next door for $37 CAD/night. My only small complaint is that the provided shampoo and conditioner weren't great. Otherwise, a fantastic experience“

Don't buy the hamburger again, ever since they switched to frozen patties they have been questionable and almost Russian roulette with your results. A real shame because we live 5-10 minutes away and always a better restaurant than other price wise“
