“Stopped by for a late lunch last Saturday and ended up completely floored by the duck in a can, which the server actually cracked open tableside and it smelled incredible. The dining room has this cozy, wood paneled energy that photographs beautifully in the afternoon light coming through the front windows, so I couldn't help snapping a few shots before digging in. Staff were friendly and didn't rush us even though we lingered for almost two hours chatting and taking pictures of the plates. Portions are huge, the foie gras poutine is genuinely worth the hype, and I'm already planning a return trip with a wider lens.“

“I solo travel at least once a year and decided to come to Montreal for the first time over my birthday weekend. My first meal/birthday dinner was at Le Vin Papillon and I can’t express what a wonderful experience I had. The mushrooms might be the most incredible dish I’ve ever tasted (I will likely dream about them) and the ham was equally delightful. I sipped on the Martinez Rose (delicious but very strong- do not order if you’re a lightweight). 😂. The staff surprised me with a carrot cake ice cream sandwich and while I don’t typically enjoy carrot cake…this was next level.

More importantly, the staff was superb. They were so welcoming and attentive. I’d love to give a special shout out to Flo- thank you for your kindness and for making my birthday dinner so special.

“Tucked away at the back of a church this restaurant is truly a hidden gem. We sat at the chefs table and were able to see all the food being prepared and ask the chefs more details about the food. We had the wine pairing menu which was excellent. Our server was very accommodating as one of the wines was not to our taste and they quickly replaced it with an excellent choice. The flavours in each course were delicious and made want to savour every bite. We will definitely be returning to Restaurant Candide again.“

“Came in for a late breakfast/brunch while on holiday. Turned out to be a popular spot but we got the choice of seating inside or outside since there was plenty seating.

So much choice, ample portions and well priced. Will be a tough decision to go anywhere else in the city for breakfast.

“Had such a great experience last night. The tataki de boeuf is a classic you absolutely can’t miss. Food was 10/10, every dish was full of flavor and beautifully done. Service was amazing from start to finish. Definitely coming back!“

The music atmosphere which was a bit party esque didn’t quite match the menu and setting which felt modern elevated.“

“What an exquisite atmosphere! I could hardly tell the difference form this restaurant from the actual cave i visited in Afghanistan when i was 12 years old. They served me a samosa that was an absolute delicacy. I prefer these samosas to the indian ones!!! The servers were incredibly polite despite the fact i do not understand arabic! 10/10!“

“I was totally impressed by the friendly service and hard workers trying to satisfy all their clients. The atmosphere is perfect and the food is the best I have had in a long time! I have tried several items on the menu and each one was delicious! You can tell the Chef has plenty of experience and takes pride in what he prepares for his customers! How anyone can have negative criticism is beyond me?? If you can't find anything positive to say then why say anything at all! I'm sure you will be back all you Karen's!! ?“

We were welcomed by Fred who welcomed and led us to our table . Loved everything about this spot. The food was delicious, and the service was wonderful. Our waitress Catherine was super nice, helped us navigate the menu, and checked on us often to ensure everything was perfect. It’s rare to find such attentive and friendly service these days.
Highly recommend if you’re in the Outremont area .“
