La Chalupa "Mexicain Restaurant"

We had enchiladas with a chicken that tested one week old. Buying a roasted chicken in a supermarket with corn tortillas would have tasted better than those enchiladas. Tacos were good.

My new favorite montreal Mexican restaurant. Went with a group and tried everything. And everything was amazing.

I enjoyed the cecina platter I ordered here. The food was flavourful and I appreciated the good portions. The atmosphere was decent, nice and colourful bringing the soul of Mexico to you. The one flaw was that the dish was not nearly large enough for the amount of food served, so there was a lot of inadvertent mixing. The enchiladas in particular became quite soggy and I wasn't really able to taste them on their own. The offered salsas are good too. The horchata didn't quite hit the spot for me and was very icy but still refreshing. Service was ok, seemed like there was just two people running the place on this slow night I visited. Overall this is a great pick for real Mexican food, this is the right part of town to look.

The enmoladas was like back in Oaxaca and the horchata is super good ! The pozole was also quite comforting

Excellent authentic mexican food!

The food was amazing the best Mexican restaurant I ever had the sopa azteca was the was really good it tasted like a poutine with a tomato base as a soup the sope had the most amazing juicy steak. This review is written by my 11 year old son.
To add to his review, as someone that has been to many Mexican Restaurants in the US and Canada. This is by far the best most authentic Mexican food in Canada, outside of Mexico. We were a large group of 8, with various requests to taste a bit of everything. We were all happy, full and pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. From the cactus salad, to the sopa azteca and the birria tacos. Hands down, a must try if you’re in Montreal.

The atmosphere is very good, the service could be better, but I think the girl was new so it's understandable. The sauces are very good.
