Had an incredible meal at Chez Jean-Paul, one of the more creative and daring restaurants I've tried in Montreal and each dish was a welcome surprise of flavours, combinations and techniques. Every dish strikes a balance between hyper-refined French execution and playful, creative flavour profiles.

Gem we discovered thanks to some recommendations from strangers! The smaller setting made for a really great intimate atmosphere where my friends and I could chat easily. We were seated at the bar (last minute reservation on a Saturday), but they thoughtfully gave us a corner to face each other. We also had a great time talking to the staff! We went for the tasting menu and wine pairing, and thoroughly enjoyed all of it! The mushroom dessert was a pleasant surprise.
