I came to Le Passé Composé for lunch a while ago and tried their 2 Foie Gras Poached Eggs Benedict. The atmosphere was chill and relaxing and the server was quite friendly. The benedict was really good in terms of flavour, texture, overall food ratio/balance, nicely poached eggs, and good turnip/potato. Trying Foie Gras for the first time was interesting as well and the foie gras complimented the food. I would go there again for the food again but it may be better for couples as the dish can feel a bit overwhelming or greasy near the end. Overall, I’d give the experience 8.8/10

The best brunch in mtl ! It’s worth the wait. I recommend going early as there’s always a line. The foie gras poached eggs is delicious and very filling. Brioche bread, poached goose eggs, grade “A” foie gras (Rougié), foie gras sauce, onion jam, prosciutto chips, poppy seeds, arugula sprouts, honey-glazed turnips. It’s so rich, so good. Their panko French toast is also a great dish. Highly recommend.Vegetarian options: They offer vegetarian optionsParking: Paid street parkingKid-friendliness: Kid friendly. Their patio in the summer is great for big groups.

I had the opportunity to try this restaurant and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. From the customer service to the quality of the food and meals, all were excellent. The menu is simple, but what is offered is very good. The prices are a little expensive, but justifiable given the quality of what is offered to customers.I highly recommend !

Original brunch options, like French toast made with panko.People who arrived 20 min late to their reservation got their table sooner than us, even though we were on time for ours. Not a very logical system!

I was disappointed with my experience at Passé Compé. First, we had a reservation and we still had to wait in the lobby before being assigned to a table. I had the Panko French Toast, which was way too fried and heavy. It didn't taste like French toast at all. At least the fruit was good. My dish came with plain Greek yogurt which tasted pretty bad and didn't seem fresh. In terms of atmosphere, the restaurant is perhaps a victim of its success, because it is extremely noisy and you can't hear yourself talking. If you're sitting at a table next to a window, dress warmly, because it's freezing. The service was pleasant nonetheless. The dishes are quite expensive, as are the drinks: my *small* latte cost me $8 before taxes and was nothing out of the ordinary. I will not return to this restaurant.

Very good service from our waitress. Very friendly and cheerful. The food is good, too big portion (yes yes, it's possible). So we ended up bringing back our dish. The cafe lacks technique for “specialty” coffee sold at $7.I think it's worth a try, but I won't go back.

Firstly, the food is really just OK, it’s nothing special and it’s overpriced. Secondly, the booking system for reservations does not make any sense. I made a reservation and I still had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. Two walk-ins were also seated before me. I had spoken with them while we were in line and they confirmed that they did not have a reservation. We were two people and a walk in of two were seated before us because they were in line before we arrived, but they had no reservation. The restaurant will also not give you a table of four if you are a group of two so essentially you have to wait until someone leaves the bar, a table for two or the big shared group tables. The concept does not make sense and is really not functional. I don’t mind waiting for brunch as I’m used to that since most brunch restaurants don’t take reservations. However, this restaurant should not offer reservations and if they will not honour your reservation.

It was my third time at that place. The food was good, however we were only granted 1h15 and weren’t allowed to order another coffee after our food was gone. And paying 6$ for a small cappuccino and 1$ for oat milk is definitely too much. I will take a break before going back there.

I really enjoyed eating at this place. The food is carefully thought out and the ambiance of the restaurant was great overall. We had the poached eggs with bone marrow and the maritimes one and both had their distinct flavour. The bone marrow had a generous portion and the maritime one too! However, the star of the show was the panko french toast. It was easily one of the best french toast I had. The texture of the panko just gives it its wow factor! The only dissapointment I had was that when we asked our new plates to be replaced since they were dirty , the waiter that we asked for (which was not our waiter) took them and threw the new plates back to us. Overall I would still recommend this place for the panko french toast that is amazing!

Good dishes, but ideally to share to avoid waste. We had 3 dishes for 4 and we were more than satisfied. The price is high but so is the quality of the dishes.
