This market is not stable, sometimes it is good and sometimes it is really horrible. The portion varies depending on the person too. Customer service leaves something to be desired. The pâtés are often overcooked and hard. It’s sad because when we came to eat with the Radio-Canada team the food was fresh.

I have lived in the neighborhood for over 15 years. I pass the restaurant every day. I will never eat there! Mice walking around in the evening, you can see them very well from the window. NO THANKS!!

It's really hit or miss depending on the day, the quality of the food is not uniform

Horrible experience. Zero service, the food was disgusting, the chicken was like 4 days old and was left hanging around in the kitchen, in addition to the wife, she was really stupid

This is the spot for a good authentic haitian dinner. Highly recommended. We love it. Will definitely return. Food was fresh. You can see the cooks.I have a haitian background living in Toronto. It's hard to find authentic haitian food that isn't an infusion in Toronto. So i came to Montréal where i know a lot of haitians will be and brought my bf with a jamaican background to try authentic haitian food. We were not disappointed. We had diri djon djon (mushroom blk rice) with griot (fried pork). And diri kole ( haitian rice and peas) with tassot de cabrit( fried goat meat)My bf loved it. I loved it. Was not disappointed. If you love rice. This is the spot. The rice portions was large. The meat was juicy. I forgot to ask for pikliz was happy it was a add on but small. Wish I knew, could've paid for it to get extra.Fried plantain was an add on..macaroni salad was an add on. Food was freshly cooked. You can also buy mini groceries. Seen some few haitians items. I've gotten the Djon djon maggie and the Natural djon djon to cook since it's my bf favorite and it's very hard to find. It's expensive for the Natural djon djon. small for $10.CON: for non french or creole speakers:There are no directions. I speak a little haitian Creole. The staff was nice.We ordered and paid for the food at the cashier. We were handed a paper with the food we selected and paid for. Took it to the back. There is no sigh to line up. But we had sense to lined up..we handed the staff the paper who was preparing the food.Little seating area for a quick bite and go. It gets busy and crowded. We were there for the food only and not the ambiance. We were not disappointed.

R.I.P to the half-owner Jean-Marie Toussaint ( ?June 10 2020) ?? He did a lot from the opening in 1984, especially the kitchen side when the Casse-Croute was created. He knew his recipes ❤️A great place to find Carribean food and spices. My fav is the legume (mixed vegetable) with rice

The food used to be good when there were women in the kitchen, but now it's terrible. Almost all men in the kitchen that don't seem to want to be there. The portions are generous but the taste is not the same. The cabri is very dry, kind of like the staff's attitude. One lady in particular seems to find pleasure in being rude every time I see her (over 30+ times). Never going back.

If you love food especially Haitian food marché méli mélo is the place to go. The food was amazing and they give you good portions for a fair price. The staff was polite and very helpful. Answered any questions I had. I highly recommend everyone to go.

Perfectly encapsulates the taste and beauty of caribbean cooking. From childhood, when my mother made griot, i always thought it was something id never be able to get at that quality again. Meli-Melos food was beyond delicious, stuffed to the brim to make sure your stomach is full, and everything i wanted + more. The kind woman working the register let me practice my French with her, and made me feel right at home in a city I've never been to. Highly recommended, across the board.

I ate a lot of griot when working in Haiti. This one is excellent! Portions are very generous and include all the trimmings: rice (djondjon, collé, blanc), banan pese, sauce, pikliz, ... add an order of akra to this. They also have t'assoit, lambi, ... everything to make you feel in Haiti.

I went in today after a recommandation. As some other previous comments the customer service is seriously lacking. I don’t know Haitian cuisine so I was asking the cashier what the dishes are and the whole time I felt like I was bothering her. She told me “beef Tasso” was “Griot” but with beef, and didn’t even bother explaining the different sizes. I don’t even know if it’s true but what I ate today was nothing like the griot I had before. A few slices of an extremely dry meat, I couldn’t even finish the dish, and to top it all I paid 27.50$ for that plate + an accra (Aran kind of who she said was 5$! For a single accra!). Very disappointed.
