I came with a group of 8, and this was my second time at O.Noir. The concept is still very unique and the staff are great, but the experience wasn’t as enjoyable this time.
The table that came after us was extremely loud — laughing nonstop, talking very loudly, and even using a phone flashlight at one point. It made it hard to hear the person sitting right next to me, which really affected the whole atmosphere.
The food portions also felt quite small, especially the appetizer and dessert, and for the price I expected a bit more. The beer I ordered was just okay.
Overall, it was interesting to try again, but I don’t think I’d return. The value for the amount of food just isn’t there for me.

This might be a 5-star experience for the food, service (Dominique, excellent) and reception. But the behavior of some clients was obnoxious: very loud screams, unstoppable laughter and even flash light pictures INSIDE the restaurant.
Unfortunately some people won’t behave properly if management is not firm enough to enforce the rules for minimally acceptable behavior in a restaurant.
If you want a proper experience, head to similar restaurants in London or Madrid. Also expensive, but at least you can have a meal and social moment which is not spoilt by the excess of noise.
Was a great experience would definitely recommend going here.

An experience of a lifetime! Dark it is and you cannot see your hand in front of you face. Sophia our server was wonderful and food was delicious especially the surprise desert. Your other senses will kick in especially hearing. It is not likely any louder than any other restaurant but you can hear conversations then as more people arrive it does become louder but it was not distracting to us as we enjoyed the smells and tastes of the food provided. I would highly recommend. Thank you Gabriel and Sophia for wonderful service!

An absolutely incredible experience! Dining in complete darkness was something unforgettable. The food was delicious, and I loved that there were the dishes a surprise ( and not listed on the menu) which made it even more exciting and mysterious. You’re not only eating in the dark, but you also don’t know what’s on your plate! Really fun! I highly recommend choosing the surprise menu. Everyone should try a restaurant like this at least once in their life.

Sharing my experience:
PROS: the staff is very kind and I have so much respect for the visually impaired waiters that were very attentive. The food was delicious, I got the vegetarian surprise menu and was surprised with a richness of flavours and textures. The surprise drink was also very good and I loved it.
CONS: unfortunately my experience was completely ruined by the people who attended dinner at the same room, I was with a group of 30+ people and they were EXTREMELY loud to a point where the servers need to shout to find the right person to serve, it was so disrespectful and overwhelming that I had to leave before the end of the service as I could not take it anymore. Overall being confined in a dark room for 2 hours with 30+ people shouting was not at all a pleasant experience, and I do understand that this is not the restaurant's fault.
SUGGESTIONS: since we have to leave our stuff in the locker, I think having a key attached to a bracelet or something similar would be beneficial, I didn't have anywhere to place the little key and had to attach it to my necklace not to loose it in the dark.
Also for big groups, I think it would be good to organize them in a different way, for example assigning numbers to each person, that way the servers would know more easily who to serve and wouldn't need to shout, which I felt bad for them.
Another suggestion is to have some sort of button that we can press to call for the service, as I think we were left unattended for quite long, I wanted to leave the room way before I did but was waiting for assistance, then I just decided to leave on my own and find the exit in the total darkness.

Excellent experience and service. The food quality/taste has definitely room for improvement, but we go for the experience, right!?

What an incredible and unique experience! From the moment we walked in we were treated with exceptional service. From the hosts in the lounge to our amazing server, Dominic, the place knows how to make customers feel valued. The food was fantastic! Pick some surprise course, it adds a fun element and you won't be disappointed. Dining in complete darkness was surreal and a challenge, but it was such a fun experience. It also makes you feel so much empathy for those that are visually impaired. No pictures to add, but definitely check this place out.

This was not just a date night. This was a whole experience. Eating in complete darkness. I was really not sure what to expect and you probably can't prepare for this. Something you just have to do. Food was awesome even though we have no idea what we ate. Would definitely make a return trip.

That was incredible! From the food, the server, the physical setting - it was all so neat. Definitely the most singular dining experience of our lives, and we've eaten some pretty interesting things all over the world. Stop reading reviews, book you reservations, and prepare to enjoy.

Dinner at O Noir was the highlight of our 3-day trip to Montreal! We both elected for the surprise 3-course menu, as well as surprise drinks. We expected the novelty of the experience of dining in pitch black, though there were fun additional aspects we hadn't thought about. But we didn't really know what the quality of the food itself would be...which was absolutely AMAZING! And really well-tailored to the dine-in-the-dark experience. Highly recommended for any kind of special occasion.
