Ryad's baklava is simply divine: crispy, well-filled and just the right amount of honey. The Turkish delights melt in the mouth with delicately fragrant flavors. An obligatory stop for lovers of oriental sweets!

Went to the market for a vegan lunch. There aren't loads of options but I went to Sols and Bols which had plenty, all of the savoury bowls can be made with tofu. I had the delicious Bol Soleil with raspberry ice tea Updated from previous review on 2024-09-13

We were having a coffee at the store just across and saw this store and decided to see if there were any vegan options and surprisingly many pastries are actually vegan. We started by getting six assorted pastries and baklavas and went to resume our coffee. The first bite in the pistachio pastry and our senses went into an over drive. A pastry like no other we have had. Slight rose essence and we were hooked. We had the second date pastry and we had the same experience. Immediately picked up a few more and we bought them home had them for the next week and each were a masterpieceIf in Montreal, do not miss this store. You will not regret.
Vegetarian options: My guess is almost all of the pastries are vegetarian
Dietary restrictions: Many of the pastries are vegan friendly

Go for: The self-discipline needed to buy less than three different types of baklava per person.Avoid if: You're unwilling to wait patiently for your turn in line.Something surprising: They have a number of Near-Eastern pastries that you've probably never seen nor heard of before.Reservation needed? NoOverall Experience: A strong 3/5. Probably the best dessert shop in Marche Jean Talon. (Translated by Google) Best oriental pastry in Montreal, I highly recommend it!!(Original)Meilleur patisserie orientale à Montréal, je la recommande fort !!
Almond baklava was perfectly buttery, crunchy, sticky and nutty. So many options, it was difficult to pick!
Baklava was very very very dry, and for 2 dollars a piece it was a huge shame.
Great array of produce vendors (especially in summer but winter is also good), including specialty stands for things like maple products, gourmet mushrooms, olives, nuts, spices/oils/vinegars, flowers. and so on. The butcher and fish stands are relatively easy to avoid if seeing them upsets you. There are several places to eat something at the market as well. The crepe stand has a vegan sweet and a vegan savory crepe. The little diner-looking place has some lovely soups. Even the ice cream stand is vegan friendly with at least a dozen lovely sorbets, all vegan! Definitely a great place to do some weekly shopping in Montreal. It’s a lot of fun for tourists if you have visitors too.
