Lovely setting and very good food. Hard acoustics make it difficult to carry on a conversation. Our waiter was great, constantly busy, but they are very understaffed in the kitchen and front of house on nights when the main dining room is closed, so service was extremely slow - an hour to get a bowl of French onion soup and a smoked meat sandwich! Plus another ten minutes to get the fries, piping hot out of the fryer. This is a management problem, not the fault of the staff struggling to keep up. Not sure if they can't find people, or just can't afford them? But it was a good meal.

Went there to celebrate my daughter’s 16th birthday and experience our first tea service together. We had a green tea & black tea(do not remember the names but it was a matcha & heavenly…) and these were both good. I was disappointed because I had to request milk and when they brought it out it was cold. Who wants to cool down their tea… please warm it up on the future. Out of the 3 tiers, the scones were our favourite with the jams. The desert was the worst, only appreciated 1 out of the tray & the sandwiches were ok. The atmosphere and decor were great. It’s definitely something to experience tea time.

Having visited La Cour des Palmiers on several occasions in the past for their afternoon tea, I decided, several months ago, to make it the place where I would celebrate my “Dirty 30” with my friends, on Saturday, August 16, 2025. For a reservation of 10 people in total, it is important to note that La Cour des Palmiers can accommodate up to 12 guests maximum. I had the pleasure of celebrating not only with my friends, but also with two 12-year-old preteens, an 8-month-old baby, and two emotional support service dogs. I was fully aware that things could have quickly turned chaotic, but I was amazed at how perfectly the afternoon unfolded! The dogs were calm as could be, the children had the opportunity to develop their palates by trying new flavors, and the baby was captivated by the décor, the music, and all the surrounding stimuli.

I want to highlight the attention to detail, the communication, and the proactivity of all the staff at La Cour des Palmiers, who managed to make this event a memorable moment for both myself and all my guests, who will return without hesitation! I had several requests, and Maïka Sajko not only fulfilled them, but went above and beyond! Three people at our table, myself included, had allergies, including very severe shellfish allergies, and the team was able to accommodate our needs with natural ease! In addition, compared to my previous tea visits, the addition of a pianist was made, and oh my, it created a divine atmosphere throughout the entire room, exactly the kind of luxurious ambiance you would expect from such a place. We were able to set up balloons without any issues, take several polaroid photos, and celebrate with cocktails and champagne, alongside the tea service! I also believe it is important to emphasize their flexibility in preparing a delicious gluten-free and dairy-free birthday cake, crafted by the hotel’s own kitchen to accommodate one of my guest’s dairy intolerance. I honestly have never tasted a cake so flavorful and yet so light, which was absolutely perfect for the summer.

We are fortunate to have many beautiful tea rooms in Montreal, but the atmosphere at La Cour des Palmiers will truly remain unmatched.

A thousand thanks to the entire team at La Cour des Palmiers for making my “Dirty 30” more than perfect.

We made the reservation 2 weeks before we came. we arrived on time but we were told that our table is not ready. We had to wait outside of the restaurant for 30mins. After 30mins waiting, the table we were sitting was a temporary tab which was set up near of the entrance of the ball room in the back. While we were there, there are always some other people enter and exit the ball room. Of course, we are the background items when other people take phone in front of the ball room. Such honor and such an amazing experience to us!

Champagne and oysters-can't go wrong and they didn't disappoint. Beautiful setting, staff were outstanding. Shout out to Catherine-makes a mean Negroni, and very knowledgeable about her craft and the Mtl culinary landscape.

Très bonne expérience, le cadre et les plats sont vraiment la projection du savoir-faire dune chaîne de marque.

Great! Warm! Fancy! Had a great time! My grandmother and I tried the cheese and charcuterie platters with Chai Espresso Martinis and Prosecco!

High Tea Visit- Gorgeous venue, but hardly worth the extremely steep pricing! Expected more and better than the very pretty-looking artistic but miniscule, microscopic offerings. More suited to insect-sized portions than what to feed even to a bird.
Would also have been expected the server to offer, even once throughout, either warming or changing of water for the one tea, one teabag! Or to ask if all was okay or if we wanted anything else!
A bad deal and hardly worth the cost or bother, apart from the elegant surroundings.
We were highly disappointed and left needing the quick fix of bacon cheeseburgers to feel that we had eaten anything.

I have been going to afternoon tea of Rirz for years from when it was 29$ to now that is 64 . I love the experience and the ambiance. I would say. The sandwiches and scones were fantastic. I would say the sweets were so so this time.

Always good! Service is excellent. Ambiance is nice. Chairs are comfortable. Alcohol selection is good honestly just a solid place to visit if you're looking for a drink and a bite.

Great service, great food, tasty mimosa and tea. Glad I was able to experience this with my aunts and grandma!

The food was excellent. But unfortunately the service was awful. We waited over 1 hour to be served anything. We placed our order upon arrival, and approximately 1 hour 15 minutes later, we were served our tea and food at the same time. It would have been nice to enjoy our tea beforehand. Also, one of us received the wrong tea, and it was cold. Completely inexcusable. We were seated at the top of the stairs, and we were very cold as the air conditioning vent points directly at that middle table. The food was excellent, but that was all. For $73 dollars, I had a tea latte that was not piping hot, and no better than Starbucks. Really not worth it. Had the service been faster, had the tea been hot, had we been attended to, I would probably splurge and go back. But not for this.

Disappointing. Do not recommend. After we got our tea no one checked on us again! We had to flag someone down after literally 40 minutes to ask for more water for our tea. Asked three times after that for more cream for the tea. Many of the tea items were lacking flavor. The ambiance is lacking as well. Feels like you are in the hotel lobby. Overall wish we had gone somewhere else.

It deserves a 5 stars but I only gave 4 due to the fact that when you use the tip % suggestions at the payment terminal, it applies the % on the amount after tax, which is illegal in Québec since may 2025. I called the day after and left a message to the person responsible for the restaurants at the Ritz but never got a call-back. While it is no big deal, it is a bit disappointing that such a prestigious institution would not comply with the law. Update: Someone did call me after my review and explained the technical glitch that they experienced for a short period and that it was solved.

Extremely nice experience. Two of my guests are gluten-intolerant and they were very impressed with the gluten-free option. It would have been nice to have some music in the background, like very low classical music. During our time there, a wedding party started to arrive and their photographer was taking pictures in the Palm Court area.... it was very pretty to see except for when we felt we were in the way.... we'd like to thank the gentleman that asked the photographer if they could take pictures quickly as the Tea guests (us and others), were having our own 'experience'. I've been here multiple times and have always had a wonderful time.
