Out of town/country foodie review - The experience begins with a line outside; there’s no formal check-in, as the host comes out to take names and party sizes. We arrived on a Sunday around 10:30 AM and were seated by 10:55 AM, which felt like a reasonable wait.

However, I was disappointed by the food and lack of communication regarding new menu items. The menu clearly advertised fresh additions, yet our server didn’t mention any of them until we were actively placing our orders. This happened twice: first with the iced strawberry matcha during the drink order, and again with the “Bobby Explores Japan” dish when ordering food. In my opinion, new offerings, or lack thereof in this case, should be highlighted at the start of the dining experience, not as an afterthought. We waited roughly 45 minutes to receive our 2 items: the Huevos Rancheros and the Classic Eggs (eggs, meat, and potatoes). I asked for soft scrambled and it came out hard.

As for the food, it was fine, but nothing particularly memorable or unique. We ordered the vanilla iced matcha, but it didn’t live up to expectations. The vanilla and sugar were simply dusted on the rim, and the matcha itself was noticeably watered down, lacking the rich flavor and depth we were hoping for.

Hi L’Avenue!

I want to take the time to rewrite this review, as the owner of L’avenue personally reached out to me offering his sincerest apologies for the incident.

After speaking with him at length after what had occurred, I decided to give L’Avenue another chance per his suggestion per the owners invitation.

He personally welcomed us and checked up on us multiple times through tour our meal and the serving staff was wonderful. Our meals were delicious as always and I look forward to coming back!

Thank you Roland and L’Avenue team at the Saint Henri location for everything 🩷😊

This place never disappoints me! I come to the Mont Royal location every single time I'm in Montreal. Here for the first time recently and it was much bigger and more spacious space - very nice patio and more seating so line moves quickly but there was a long line (somehow I never lined yo before in MR location). Huge menu and I always tried different things every time, they are consistently good and is no-fail recommendation for everyone I know, only ever received compliments about this place. Service might take a bit time but staff are friendly, know their menu and attentive. Nothing else to say I love this place! Hope they open more location in Toronto because the only one we have here wait time is just brutal!!

Excellent service and delicious food! The staff were so accommodating, especially with two toddlers at our table. We used to go to another location, but this was our first time visiting this one, and it was excellent. This place has become one of our go to brunch spots in Montreal! We come back almost every time we visit Montreal!

It seems that the staff is quite occupied, and perhaps additional support, such as expo and meal runners, would be beneficial in assisting the servers with attending to their guests. While the food was enjoyable, there were some delays in service.

Only one real vegan option (adapted avocado toast) is available. The meal itself is fine; nothing crazy but a decent filling meal. I wish there were more fun vegan options but still grateful they were able to make me something! Service is attentive and fast, especially for such a busy spot.
Unfortunately the restaurant (inside) is very loud from both music and chatter so just not a pleasant start to the day for brunch with friends in my opinion.

Huevos Rancheros were great.
Indecisive Sticky Toffee Pancakes were yummy too.
Shakshuka is my favourite.

The classic eggs benny was delicious, accompanied by their pistachio latte! The vibe was super cool with the graffiti walls, retro items, colourful lights, and the funnest restaurant bathrooms I’ve ever seen! Cody was very friendly and provided amazing service! All in all, an 10/10 experience.

I rarely stand in line for a restaurant but since we are on vacation I happily joined the crowd. The big surprise was that this decadent brunch spot was worth the wait. I wouldn’t and couldn’t eat here often and still fit into my clothes but we all thoroughly enjoyed every bit of our brunch. The service was initially slow in this busy restaurant but once our order was taken the service was attentive and upbeat. The vibe of the place is great with cool design features and great attention to the music. I’d recommend the blueberry pancakes with cream and lemon drizzle and the hazelnut latte.. but leave time for a post brunch nap!

Great place. Maybe a tad expensive for their fancy plates but their regular 2 eggs toast+meat is legit. Their homemade sausage is good, and the breakfast comes with beans. I'll come back for sure.

As soon as I entered, the restaurant’s decor and the arrangement of the furniture and banquettes caught my attention. Then our host, Kody — a handsome guy — guided us. I should also mention the diverse and unique menu, the good quality of the breakfast, the reasonable prices, and the fast service. The prices are very reasonable. I strongly recommend it. Oh, and seeing Julien again — who had served us many times very professionally at another restaurant — also made me very happy.

We went to L’Avenue and tried four dishes. Most of the food was really good, but the overall experience wasn’t great. We waited in line for over an hour, and even after getting a table, it took more than 45 minutes for the food to arrive. Service was super slow, maybe because it was just a busy day, but it definitely made the visit frustrating.

The Steak and Eggs were easily the best thing on the table. The eggs were perfectly runny, the ribeye was tender, and the hollandaise sauce was rich and flavorful. Bobby Does Dallas was also very good. The eggs were fluffy, the beef was juicy, and the sweet caramelized onions really stood out.

We also had the Red Shakshuka. The flavor was nice, and the labneh and feta added a creamy touch. It came with naan bread at first, which didn’t really go well with the dish, but we got it with baguette instead and that worked much better. Honestly, pita would’ve been the perfect match.

The Strawberry Nocciolata looked amazing and had lots of toppings, but the taste was just okay. Not bad, but definitely not something I’d rush to order again.

Overall, the food was mostly great but the service and wait time were rough. If you go, make sure you’re not in a hurry.

Excellent experience...highly recommended! The food tasted magnificent. I tried the truffle duck and the strawberry nocciolata, both delicious. The size of the dishes...needless to say, they're perfect for sharing! Congratulations Eric!!!

The food was excellent as was the service. We were served by Laurie who was very personable, quick and attentive. We ordered “Bobby does Istanbul”, and a Californian Omelette. Looking forward to going back another time.
