I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience here was disappointing. Our server, seemed overwhelmed and unprepared. The service was painfully slow, and instead of managing the situation calmly, she rushed through everything and looked visibly anxious—which ended up making us feel anxious too.
To make matters worse, she forgot part of my order and then tried to convince me I never asked for it, which felt like gaslighting. Overall, the service lacked professionalism and left a bad impression.

Server spilled water all over me. Then it took over 1 hr to get our food. Our table and 3 other tables left before it arrived. They had some bs excuse about a large party of 20 people, but only told us that after we waited. Don't go here.

The service was generally good, but Bibo really made the experience stand out. He was very friendly, helped us with our orders, and offered us coffee multiple times. This place is a Plateau institution for a reason. A great no-BS diner; it’s not fancy but the staff is nice and the food is very tasty and well-prices. Some of the best pancakes I’ve had in Montreal.

I had such a great experience at Les Vieux Saint-Laurent — from the moment I walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere made me feel right at home.
The food was absolutely delicious, beautifully prepared with fresh ingredients and rich, comforting flavors. Every dish we tried was packed with taste and presented with care.
One thing that really stood out was the portion sizes — they’re huge for the price! You definitely get great value for your money here.
The service was top-notch — friendly, attentive, and genuine. It’s clear the staff takes pride in what they do, and it made the whole experience even better.

I slipped on the floor and fell hard when I was going to the toilet and hurt my arm cause they started mopping the floors around me when I was still eating my food even though they weren't closing for another hour. Servers were super nice about it though and the pancakes were amazing
