Amazing food! Best Ethiopian food that I’ve had in Montreal or Toronto. My friend and I shared a veggie combo and each dish was so flavourful and delicious. We also got a mango smoothie, which was really tasty. The woman who works there (I assume she’s the owner) was also really nice and friendly.

I discovered Eritrean cuisine in a restaurant that doesn’t look exceptional at first glance, but is actually wonderful, with friendly, cheerful service and delicious dishes. You’re fully immersed in local customs. Everything is eaten with your hands—there are no forks or knives. But there’s an exceptional joy of life in the restaurant. I highly recommend it.

I was visiting from Toronto and craving some good Habesha food while in Montreal. After some searching, I found Nakfa Restaurant and decided to give it a try; and I’m glad I did! I ordered the combo for one, which came with a generous mix of meat and vegan options: white tibs, key tibs, shiro, cabbage, greens, salad, and a spicy red key siga wot called zigni. Everything was delicious and well-prepared; full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The portion was just right for one person, and I also enjoyed a nice cup of tea with the meal.

The service was good, though there’s a bit of room for improvement. The space is quite small, and it wasn’t easy to find a seat. I found the price a bit higher than what I’m used to in Toronto; I paid around $50 including a 15% tip; not sure why the difference, but the quality made up for it.

Overall, it was a great experience and a solid spot for authentic Habesha food in Montreal. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a taste of Eritrean/Ethiopian cuisine in the city!

The owner was warm and welcoming who took great care in presenting her food. The brown meat stew in the centre was especially tasty. She checked on us frequently and made sure we had enough injera to swoop up all the delicious stew.

Ridiculously good Eritrean/Ethiopian food prepared by an extremely welcoming owner! We got the Meat Platter (2-3 pax) for $48 excl. taxes. Food took a while to come but it's 100% worth the wait!

Delicious! We had the mixed vegetarian and meat for two. The service was pretty quick. I’ve also taken out here and it’s been fast. I highly recommend going here!

Had an amazing experience. The restaurant unfortunately isn’t really busy the 2 times I came and that such a shame. The decor is so cute and the food is amazing. The food is like a home cooked meal. So fresh and yummy.

You will wait a bit of time like 20 minutes or more for the food to be prepared but it is 100% worth it. I’ve gone twice already and can’t wait to go again.

We went with my family for lunch. We orded one non-fasting combo and one fasting combo. The taste was nice and the meat was tender. The variety of the souce was many which helped to enjoy your favorite source. As there was only one shef who also served us, we waited a bit long (about 25 minutes). As we were craving for Ethiopian food, it was a good choice. I appreciate the effort
and dedication of the guy. I advice him not to put earphones while working. I advice to plan for about 2 hours.

I visited this restaurant last week with friends and had such a great experience! The food was absolutely delicious, and the person working there was kind and helpful. It was my first time trying Eritrean cuisine, and I was pleasantly surprised by how similar it is to Ethiopian food.

The menu offers great sharing options, and I highly recommend ordering a combo to enjoy with friends. This little gem is definitely worth a visit, and I’m already looking forward to coming back!
