There really is no question that St Viateur is probably the best bagel in the world. This is especially true when you get it fresh from the oven. The smoked salmon spread they carry is also the best we've ever had, a deserving accompaniment to the bagel. This place is a must try.

The classic sesame bagels were incredibly fresh and delicious. We also tried a variety of flavored bagels, but unfortunately some of them didn't seem as fresh—they were quite dry compared to the sesame ones.

If you're visiting, I'd definitely recommend sticking with the classic sesame bagels, as they're clearly the highlight and absolutely worth trying.

Never had such a fresh bagel before. I love the poppy bagel the most when it’s eaten alone.

The bagels were incredibly fresh and had a perfectly crispy crust. They taste amazing while they’re still warm, especially with a little cream cheese. Just keep in mind that they become quite hard once they’ve been sitting for a while, so they’re definitely best enjoyed fresh. Overall, a great bakery with delicious, freshly baked bagels!

The bagels were fresh and tasted amazing. We came from the US and were amazed by how good these bagels were. They were light and slightly sweet and (since we got the everything bagels) savory. Also, seeing how the bagels were made was great. Definitely the best bagels we had and a highlight of the trip.

I’m from New York and I’ve had a lot of bagels… these might just be better.

Came to St-Viateur Bagel on our last night in Montreal to pick up bagels to bring home. Even though we just finished dinner, we had to try one fresh for science and it was absolutely worth it. They are different from the New York bagels I grew up with, but they are delicious in their own way. We ended up bringing a bunch home to share with friends and family!

It's the best bagel shop...it's not a restaurant,so kind of hard to rate...
Depending on the flavor of bagels...it ranges from $15-$18 per dozen ...they obviously sell everything from cream cheese to salmon, drinks etc.....

As a visitor to Montreal, I can confidently say that this is a must-visit spot for bagel lovers. We ordered the onion bagel and the all-dressed bagel, and both were excellent.

The long line speaks for itself—people clearly love their bagels here. In fact, waiting in line felt like part of the experience. Inside, you'll find photos and memorabilia that showcase the shop's history and heritage, adding to its charm and character.

They also sell a variety of spreads and fillings, as well as merchandise such as T-shirts, mugs, and other souvenirs.

Overall, it's a great place to stop by for authentic Montreal bagels and a taste of local history. I would definitely come back the next time I visit Montreal.
