We returned to our old, NDG haunts this eve, and decided, on a friend's suggestion to go Star of India rather than the regular Ganges (now very much in the rear view mirror). Star of India was top to bottom perfect. We went with \\ Lamb Korma, Eggplant Baji and without a second thought, the Butter Chicken, fearlessly adding creamy to creamy. With some nice chopped mango chutney, hot sauce (which is very hot) to preference. It was served deftly by our fab waiter and jaw droppingly great. The very next time we we are deegeward, we shall return without fail. Namaste

New years eve we went to Star of India - they are so welcoming and kind and the food was so delicious and NAAN bread was 20/10. We keep going back over and over again and our meal was so reasonable. These guys are just a wonderful resto in NDG!!!

A definite go to Indian restaurant in Montreal! I’ve been going here for 20+ years. Great employees as well!
My favs are chicken tikka masala, chicken madras, okra… Consider dinning in too. Great atmosphere and comfy. Prices are very reasonable

Avoid. This is one of the worst restaurants serving bland and watered down food. Not authentic whatsoever. Go to Bombay Mahal down the street.

The service was amazing. However that was the worst indian food I have ever eaten in my life. I was there with my friend and she ordered butter chicken, the most basic dish ever it tasted sweet and like expired cheese at the same time. It was pricey as well two dishes were 60$. Avoid this place at all costs.

We usually order Indian food from this place. Last night we went there, as we had no power at home. This was our third time dining there, the first time was 3 or 4 years ago, and the experience is still the same. Great food, prompt and very courteous service and nice atmosphere. I can only wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes Indian cuisine. We will definitely go back.

I love eating in your restaurant in downtown for last two years. Sad you closed that one. Always love the two persons combos with everything including desserts

First time trying it

I was in the area, and as I was passing by this place, I decided to give it a try, and ordered for take-out. I ordered the lamb korma, with a side of basmati rice, and a garlic naan bread. The service was very good. I was not to impressed, as I have tried these items at another restaurant, several times before. I noticed the sauce to be very sweet, and lacking in taste, in the lamb korma, the garlic naan bread was very doughy, and the rice was okay
