There was a major bee issue on the patio. They provided burnt coffee grounds as a deterrent but didn't help much.

The food and setting are great - a beautiful patio with comfy chairs and scenic view. We went in the third week of September for lunch so it was pretty quiet - people were likely worried about being cold or rain. Unexpectedly, our challenge was neither - it was the swarm of wasps that showed up with the food. The staff gave us smouldering coffee grounds in a cup so the smoke would chase them away, but unfortunately we were now just smokey and harassed by the wasps. Nothing more that the staff could have done (they clearly have been struggling with the problem), but we eventually just had to leave and finish our catch up in the beautiful hotel lounge.

Notre groupe a adore l'ambiance de la terrasse Nelligan samedi dernier. La musique du DJ etait sensationnelle. Un vrai bijou au coeur du Vieux-Montreal. J'ai specialement aime la margarita Nelligan!!! 🍹

C'était très difficile d'avoir l'attention d'un serveur, puis quand nous avons demandé notre facture, ça a pris une éternité pour que quelqu'un vienne nous faire payer pour qu'on puisse partir. Beaucoup de table autour de nous vapotaient et ça dégageait une odeur désagréable, mais personne ne les a averti, donc j'imagine que c'est toléré là-bas. Les cocktails étaient très bon.

Le cadre est très jolie, spécialement si tu as la chance d avoir une table avec vue sur le fleuve. La nourriture est comme même bonne, mais petite quantité et peu varié. Si tu es allergique aux guêpes, cet endroit est à éviter. Le service est 5/5♥️

I had one of the most disappointing and hurtful experiences at Terrasse Nelligan. We came as a party of two and were seated at a table facing a wall. When we politely asked if we could have a table with a view, we were told those were reserved for groups of four. We accepted this explanation in good faith. However, just a few minutes later, a white couple arrived and were immediately seated at one of those “tables for four.” Shortly after, another couple was given a table meant for six. When I asked the hostess why we were refused the same option, she deflected and said it was “the manager's decision.” This was deeply upsetting and felt discriminatory. No guest should be treated differently based on who they are. Restaurants thrive on hospitality and fairness, but our experience here was the opposite. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously. Inclusivity and equal treatment should never be optional in 2025.
