Here I am, a hungry English-Canadian, in the most random part of town while visiting Quebec City. I drove by this place and noticed it had a full parking lot and a lot of people around. I thought to myself this is a good sign.

As soon as I walked in, the place was busy and it was clear it was popular with locals.

To start, I ordered the pea soup and it was delicious. It had little bits of pork in it and was rich but still very flavorful. The pizza seemed to be popular so i got a mini one with a cesar salad. It was very good. The dough itself tasted fresh and was fluffy, but it still held the toppings really well and was perfectly baked. I was told the locals put butter on the pizza crust so I gave it a try and it was surpringly good. The salad was nice too, crisp leaves, perfect amount of dressing and REAL bacon!

My waiter was very polite and welcoming. I don’t speak French very well and there was a bit of a language barrier, but I still felt very well taken care of. The whole experience felt genuine and I’m really glad I stopped in.

Honestly I'm not really picky in general but the plates are so
Small and not full. Service was extremely long. More than 45 minutes before having our meals and without water we had to ask several times before having any…

It's not a good idea to have a portion of dumpling stew delivered because the dumplings are hard, dry and either have no trace of brown sauce or it has dried on the way. I really like Normandin but $20 for that, no way.

Good Peasant fair at a reasonable price for a big Quebec restaurant chain.

Seriously, I didn’t think there could be such a big difference between restaurants in the same chain! This one is clearly at the top of the list for service! People are welcoming and smiling! The food arrives hot and not overcooked! The room being smaller than the one we went to before means that the atmosphere is much calmer, people speak less loudly. Very nice restaurant!

I found this place for breakfast after visiting Montmorency falls. I had the breakfast pizza with poached egg and it was excellent. The fruits were also all very sweet and perfectly refreshing at the end of the meal. I wish I had tried this chain earlier during my trip so I could visit more than once.
