Came here on a Saturday night to enjoy some drinks and jazz with my partner and we had a fantastic time. The musicians were really talented and it was cool that everyone at the bar was focused on listening to and enjoying the music. It’s a real cozy and intimate spot- definitely a tight squeeze, so I recommend getting there before the band sets up (that was around 11 when we were there)
My wife and I like to visit jazz bars when we travel. NYC, Paris, etc. Last night we got extremely lucky and found Bar Ste-Angele in Québec City. It was the best music and service experience for this style of music I have ever had. Granted, I am a rock and soul musician, but the 4-piece band, Groove Street (sax, keys, bass and drums) played accessible fusion jazz better than anybody I’ve heard. Small bar, held around 30 people or so. We sat at the end of the bar about 5 feet...

Sneaky incognito hidden gem, warm and inviting with great vibes and a beautiful bartender - go early on weekend eves to get a seat downstairs.
