We got the tasters menu and wine tasting. Our server was amazing and we enjoyed his excellent explanation of the wine pairings chosen for each meal. The table was small and we were in the patio/outdoor area room right by the service bar. When first seated we asked if we could move tables and we were told they were all booked. The tables remained vacant in the time we were there. There were many tables available close to the window with a view or indoors with the festive decor. Atmosphere can ruin your experience and when you are paying 1000 dollars for fine dining you expect. Part of the reason for booking this reservation was the ambience and we did not revive this.
We had a wonderful time at Le champlain. The food (AND WINE) was delicious and the service from staff was exceptional.
We did not care for the 6 course meal. The dessert was delicious, but the only food we cared for was the veal. The lamb chops were all fat. Our waiter was friendly and detailed. Great experience, just not great food.

It's a great restaurant, but I'd recommend visiting it only to those who have the 20% discount guaranteed - like for example, the Quebec residents. The food and presentation are great, the restaurant looks very unique from the interior design, but it can get very pricy. Expect $400+ bill for a couple for a dinner. The charge doesn't post to your credit card as a restaurant expense, it posts as a hotel cost instead, so be aware of that when paying.
Incroyable soirée! Tout était parfait, nourriture, vins , service et la vue sur le fleuve 🤩
Très bon restaurant, le personnel est très sympathique et souriant, la nourriture et le vin sont excellents.
The food was very good in terms of taste. However, we felt that the setting, food presentation, and service style were too casual for a restaurant at this price point. When dining at a high-end establishment like Champlain, we expect a greater level of attention to detail in all aspects of the experience.
Our waiter was excellent and the meal was great. They worked to accommodate my wife with food allergies. It was a great dining experience.

We booked online for brunch and accidentally went to the wrong restaurant resulting in what we thought was going to be $49pp being $94pp. That would have been fine if the food was outstanding however, while good, it wasn't out of the ordinary.
The restaurant itself is beautiful and the service was wonderful. My dining companion's flight was delayed, but I still felt very comfortable dining alone. Accustomed to pre-fixe menus and Michelin level food, I chose the 4 courses and premium wine pairings. The amuse bouche with perfect pastry and mild cheese was delicious and paired perfectly with the 1st course wine. The bread was one of the best I ever had... and it was a bit downhill from there to dessert. The tuna with fig, marigold, and cherry essence spray was so salty I could barely touch it. The waiter noticed, and I told him, but nothing said after. The second course with mussels was a bit better, but only for the first third that were cooked. The other was nearly raw and inedible. Again, very salty... but the wine was perfect. The waiter noticed again, but did not ask this time. For the main, I paid the incredible 45$ CA upcharge for beef over lamb, as I don't care for lamb, and the portion was enormous. They could have served half and charged less. The mushrooms and potatoes were also plentiful, but so much again went uneaten as the dish was covered in salt flakes. To make it worse, the marrow and reduction sauce poured over the meat was also unnecessarily salty. The dessert was the best course. Deconstructed apple pie with mousse, gelato, and sautéed apples on a small pastry crust... and the most surprising dessert wine I've ever had. All in with tip, my meal was 390$ CA. I thoroughly enjoyed the night and recognize the price is also in part for the experience, but the food should be better.
Food was unique and had great flavours, portions were very small. This restaurant had a Michelin 'honorable mention' but is much like a Michelin restaurant. The waiter emphasized the 4 or 6 course meal with wine pairings to the extent that we didn't think any à la carte options were available. Only when we heard the table behind us push hard on the availability of à la carte choices did we realize this was an option. Setting and atmosphere were excellent. If you're looking for a Michelin like restaurant where the food is like art, has great flavours but the portions small, this is your place.
Beautiful venue. Impeccable service. The food was excellent. Loved every bit of the experience! Be sure to ask about the champagne!
