Bistro hortus Reviews
This restaurant is completely nut free so when we took our 10 month old with a newly diagnosed peanut allergy there, we felt very comfortable feeding him. He got to experience his first restaurant meal!!! Then, when we couldn’t find another safe place to eat, they let us order takeout!!
And to top it off, the food was AMAZING!!! Highly highly recommended!
…a tremendous restaurant with a convenient location, we were lucky to have the same fantastic and friendly waitress and we actually dined twice at Bistro hortus based on our first meal, a very interesting menu, all the necessary gluten-free precautions, everything was delicious, a nice wine selection too, highly recommended…

Bistro Hortus offers a warm ambiance and professional yet convivial service. The menu caters to dietary restrictions, with most options being gluten-free. Delightful plates, fresh ingredients, and beautiful presentation make for a great dining experience. The chocolate white honey crème brûlée and brunch menu are highly recommended. This is a gluten-free restaurant before all, with few vegan options. Bistro Hortus offers a very interesting menu, with all the necessary gluten-free precautions. Everything was delicious, and there is a nice wine selection too.
The restaurant features many unique dishes reflecting the local region. The servings are generous, and the charcuterie appetiser of local meats and cheeses is outstanding. The poutine with duck breast is also a highlight. The restaurant emphasizes a farm-to-table freshness in its ingredients, including some grown on the roof, such as the honey used. The setting has both outdoor dining in Old Quebec and a beautiful indoor seating area. As a traveler, the Quebec trout is a delicious option.
