“The restaurant was buzzing all night long - great atmosphere and great service. The food is good in general, with some dishes are great. The beef tongue is really tender and flavorful. The pork chop is the best. Only complaint - I wish there was more mushroom in the lions mane. Overall a great place to visit.“

“This restaurant is completely nut free so when we took our 10 month old with a newly diagnosed peanut allergy there, we felt very comfortable feeding him. He got to experience his first restaurant meal!!! Then, when we couldn’t find another safe place to eat, they let us order takeout!! And to top it off, the food was AMAZING!!! “We visited Sept 21, 2025 for dinner. It was absolutely perfect. The location in the old port area was vibrant and beautiful. The service was great and the food was creative and exceeded our already high expectations based on other reviews. I was hesitant to go there because I’m not a big fan of rabbit, their specialty, but I gave it a try. We had the rabbit rillettes appetizer and rabbit pot pie and rabbit poutine for mains. It was all just amazing! The atmosphere on the heated porch was cozy too! La pin Sauté gets my highest recommendation!“

“We had a nice meal here in Quebec City. Extensive drink menu has many choices and they are reasonably priced. We started with the lobster pogos, which were good. We ordered the asian beef tartare...the appetizer serving, which was small. In all fairness, the server alerted us that it was small to share and we were okay with that. We also ordered the pickleator burger, which took forever. Our server finally asked if we got it already and then went to check on it. When we got it, it was delicious, and the manager apologized and took off two of our drinks from the bill. Very fair and appreciated. It's a fun spot in the heart of the action. I would definitely go back.“

Un grand merci également à Caroline, notre serveuse attentive, qui a veillé sur nous tout au long de la soirée et nous a guidés dans notre choix du Menu Signature. L'expérience culinaire était tout simplement divine, sublimée par une ambiance des plus agréables. Pour couronner le tout, notre soirée s'est achevée par des digestifs au Bar 1608, ajoutant une note parfaite à notre expérience mémorable. Je recommande vivement l'Hôtel Fairmont Le Château Frontenac et le Restaurant Chaplain à tous ceux qui recherchent une expérience gastronomique exceptionnelle dans un cadre enchanteur. “Amazing good crepes! They have buckwheat crepes as gluten friendly alternative that were formidables!
Staff were very friendly and patient. I was running through city so they double wrapped them so I could put in my satchel to continue my run back to hotel. Definitely a place to go for crepes!“

“A lovely little tucked away spot that was one of the best on the trip. Breakfast was fantastic and so was the latte. One thing to note is they stop taking breakfast orders at 10:30am, so if you're not use to that I would keep that in mind! But was worth stopping into.“
