We got lucky and chose this as our first place to eat in Quebec. It was the best by far. The food, the service, the presentation were superb. Worthy of a Michelin star. Can't recommend it high enough.👍👍👍

L'Échaudé is a beautiful, traditional French high dining restaurant with a Michelin mention and a wonderful terrace in summer and a cozy bistro feel in fall and winter. It has been serving classic dishes since 1984. Everything is perfect, from the exquisite food to the sincerely warm, exceptional, attentive, and polite service. It offers unbelievable value for the quality and is a must when visiting Québec City, considered the best restaurant in ville de Québec.
The bistro fare is “à son meilleur.” Dishes are magnificent, glorious, wonderful, and delicious. Standouts include magnificent oysters with a nice sauce, glorious scallops in a wonderful sauce with truffles, wonderful cod, perfectly crisp duck, and great fries. The warm goat cheese, beet salad, wagyu beef tartar, salmon tartar, and lamb stew are all delicious. The flank steak is remarkably tender, the beef tartare is flavorful, and the sweetbreads are wonderful with a spectacular sauce. For dessert, the sugar pie and raspberry mousse are very, very good, the crème brûlée is good, and the dessert sampler is lovely. The mixed drinks taste great. The wine and beverage list is nicely organised on a tablet, with great suggestions.
Service is attentive but not intrusive, though it requires a reservation. The experience makes for a fabulous lunch or a most memorable meal.
