“What a great restaurant: impeccable and friendly service (Our waiter Francis could give a class on a perfect service), food was delicious and elegantly presented. What to wish? This place absolutely surpassed a very pretentious, bad food and rude service at Le Saint Amour we went to the next day. We’ll definitely return to La Planque if we visit Quebec again! “We were four diners all ordering different entrees. All the entrees were served hot and were delicious. One entree ( Protein only) was served about five minutes after the initial three. The server advised us of the delay and provided the plate minus the protein. It was nice to be told in advance that there was a minor problem and they were correcting it. Very professional service at Vieux Duluth. Wonderful dinner was had by all.“

“Restful little Inn above a quaint cafe. The Inn was built in the 1700's if I remember correctly. No phone when we stayed a few years ago. No parking out front and no desk clerk after check in ended until the next morning. Our room actually had it's own bathroom which I understand was a luxury here. Very pleasant and restful. Loved going downstairs to the cafe and having breakfast outside or a late-evening snack. With the currency exchange rate at the time we went the room was about $50 a night.“

“This restaurant is completely nut free so when we took our 10 month old with a newly diagnosed peanut allergy there, we felt very comfortable feeding him. He got to experience his first restaurant meal!!! Then, when we couldn’t find another safe place to eat, they let us order takeout!! And to top it off, the food was AMAZING!!! Highly highly recommended!“

“Our fantastic dining experience began as soon as we walked in the door. We were greeted at the door and welcomed. All of the restaurant staff that saw us welcomed us and made us feel like we were regulars, even though this was our first visit. We ordered wine from the by-the-glass list; there was a very diverse list of wines and all of the wines on the list were very highly rated and the wine we had lived up to its very high rating. I also had the bartender make me a custom mocktail that was very good.
My main course, veal. was prepared in the kitchen and my spouse’s steak was prepared tableside. Both were prepared beautifully and exactly as requested. The waiters were very attentive, but did not hover. Nabil, our waiter, made sure he understood our orders and requests and made sure that everything was done perfectly. The restaurant was obviously an older establishment but was spotlessly clean with very comfortable furniture and furnishings. Prices were higher than average, but not exorbitant and what one would expect for the exceptional service and food quality provided.“
