This is what I found in my shawarma sandwich: debris from a clay desiccant packet. This was not merely disgusting — it clearly constitutes a food‑safety incident and a serious breach of basic hygiene and quality‑control standards. I have already escalated the matter to the local public‑health authority for investigation. I have stopped eating out since this incident, because I no longer feel confident about what a frustrated or underpaid cook might put in my food.
