For years, my family and I have gone to Calvitto's for bread and pastry. Each time, its been a good experience. The bread is excellent and the pastry was always top notch. The staff has always been pleasant, even if a bit young and inexperienced at times. Ray C. the owner even came out once from behind the counter and gave my son a free cupcake on one of our trips. Prices have crept up but where haven't they lately?Fast forward to this past Wednesday, March 20. My wife went in and bought 6 zeppoles, 4 cinnamon twists, and 2 loaves of bread. The total came to $49. On Wednesday night, we shared one zeppole after dinner, it was delicious. On the next evening, we brought them to a family gathering and discovered that at least two of them had gone sour. We were a bit surprised. One would think that even cream pastry would not go bad one day after leaving the bakery. We decided to throw the rest out, why keep bad food?My wife went to the bakery today asking for a refund and was told "no". She was told that she could get a refund if she brought back the zeppole so they could be examined. Do you guys really think I'm trying to soak you for 6 zeppoles? What's that a whopping $25?I really didn't want to write this review for a one-off experience, but quite frankly, I'm insulted. After buying from you for several years, you've now lost us. We will take our money and our family's business elsewhere.

Ugh not enough time to say all the good things I want. From the pastrys to the pizza and calzones evrything we have ordered is absolutly delicious!!!! We didn't know they served fresh hot pizza until one of the workers overheard us talking amongst ourselves about it and told us they did hot pizza and to order one so we did and I was NOT dissapoited!!! It is now our Sunday go to for our family.

I'm the guy who came in today making the stink about your Russian Tea Cakes lol. I couldn't believe you even make them because I'm learning they're not as common as they used to be. THANK YOU for making them!!!! I bought 2 but I wanted all 6 of them. My god they were killa dilla!!!!!

Awesome Italian and Sicilian style bread. The calzones and hand pies are excellent, especially the spinach and eggplant varieties. Good assortment of pastries, traditional Italian and standard fare like brownies and cupcakes. Italian-American "party pizza " is the best and available in single strips or by the box.

Going to start trying other nearby bakeries. I won’t go back there unless I’m absolutely stuck.I’m too embarrassed to have to ask if something is fresh. My last couple purchases haven’t been. Stuff can be old. Yes, old.I loved the convenience, but it’s time to get out of that comfort zone for fresh baked goods.Also, a couple of weeks ago I showed up at door at 7:04 pm with my elderly aunt for some treats. They closed at 7 pm. I nicely pleaded with the 3 people standing there to let me in for a quick sale. They shooed me away. And this is someone who easily spends $30-$40 every time I walk in the door. Sorry Calvitos! Your loss.

I went to get 4 strips of pizza?w/ Cheese, pepperoni and olives and asked if she could warm them up, she did but, it was so overheated the cheese was stuck to the foil and when I unwrapped it and I couldn’t even bite into the pizza ?because, the bottom was like cardboard! I even told the girl only warm it up I don’t want it hot but, she wasted 4 good ?pizza strips and I wasted my money and they are not cheap w/ their pizza ?or pastry!!! The bill was $28.00 4 pizza strips, a Bismark, French horn, Russian tea cake and a brownie, WOW!!!I will never get pizza?from there again!They have 2 Calvitto’s?pizza and bakery the one closest to Roger Williams Zoo on Park Avenue in Cranston?their pizza is fantastic they never overheat it and I’ve gone there for years! I went to the other Calvitto’s?pizza because, it’s closer to where I live, not anymore! I should have turned around with my truck and gone back there and got my money back!!!
