As a born & raised San Diegan trapped in Connecticut, I’m a snob when it comes to Mexican food. I happened to be in Johnston on business when I noticed California Taco Shop. Of course I turned my nose up & said “ha! That’s funny.” But like anybody on their high horse, I had to try it. I got the California burrito, 5 rolled tacos, & a horchata. The horchata was SPOT ON! I gotta say portion is good.
Food is delicious.
Service was fast and courteous.
I ate at this place twice this week.
Quesobirrias were fire! And Bistec encebollado was on point.

Im going to miss this spot!

Parking: Parking is accesible if the place us empty. Otherwise you have to go around and walk a little

Overall really good experience, only reason for four starts is because ONE time I went my carnitas burrito was decently smaller than usual. After that one time it’s been delicious.
