Well folks, after 27 years of myself and my coworkers coming to this restaurant we will not be coming back! The original owner and waitresses that worked there were kind, courteous and the food was delicious. We never had a problem there until now! I always order the same, eggs over medium, home fries and white toast. The eggs are either too runny or overcooked like they were today. The coffee always taste like it’s been sitting in the pot for a long time. Nothing changes there. The only reason why I go there is because, Harriet‘s kitchen, The lighthouse, Athena’s and English muffins are usually crowded,so Home Fries is always the last resort! The plump waitress with the black hair was totally rude and out of place to be talking to a customer (me) the way she did in front of other patrons! Here is what happened. My coworker asked the plump waitress if she could have another cup of coffee she totally never came back to the table. She was asked again and said she’d be right there, and still never came to our table and the restaurant wasn’t that busy. I took it upon myself to take my coworkers cup, bring it to the counter and help the waitress out by asking her if she could put some coffee in the cup she didn’t even let me talk to her instead she snapped at me and said,I told you I’ll be over and I said to her we’ve asked you twice already. The plump waitress delivered her water to the other table then came over to my table and started to berate me in front of the other patrons in the restaurant, telling me I’m always complaining about the food. I won’t lie. I do complain about the food, because I don’t get my food the way I want it I’m paying for the food. I should get it the way I want it! I don’t want brown eggs, cold food, coffee that taste old and toast that’s been sitting on the counter. I will never return to that restaurant again until there are new owners. I don’t know if she is waitress/ owner, but I know this, someone should tell her the customer is always right you don’t talk to customers in that manner! Since when has it become a crime to complain about food you’re paying for? Not my fault if you have lousy cooks! Oh, and just for the record, the other restaurants, I mentioned I never complained about the food, except for one restaurant the coffee is weak and it tastes like tea thats the one thing that I complained about, but I still go to that restaurant I order orange juice instead of coffee now. If you do go to Home Fries and they asked you if you want onions with your potatoes, you’re not going to get real onion’s you’re going to get onion flakes out of a bottle! I have never went to a restaurant in my entire life that put’s onion flakes on potatoes shame on you Home Fries for being too lazy to fry an onion!

Cute little place for breakfast. Was reasonably priced and breakfast was good. They were short staffed but still managed to make it work. Will be back for breakfast again.

Preparation of certain menu items such as omelettes and homefries still inconsistent with different cooks. We have had the same omelettes with different sizes or amounts of ingredients, and home fries that were really flavorful and crispy or less flavorful and bland. Sometimes you get a big omelette, sometimes small. When the owner Mark is cooking, the food is most consistent. Coffee is stronger than average. Waitresses are friendly and when not busy, conversational. It's a nice neighborhood restaurant that just needs more consistency with how menu items are prepared.Parking: Restaurant located in a strip mall. Parking can harder to find when busy.Kid-friendliness: Great for kids and families.

The food and service were fabulous. My daughter and I split the Johnston omelet and an order of cinnamon roll pancakes. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The coffee was OK. The service was very good. My only disappointment was I left the remaining pancake in my take out box on the table when I left and didn't realize until I got home. My apologies to our server for that. Hope to return soon.

Imagine you’re trying to call to order ahead, and they pick up and hang up the phone the first time you call. I then proceeded to call back, and this time, they picked up the phone, but DID NOT TALK/ANSWER AT ALL. I could tell the employee had answered the phone and placed it beside her with no intention of hanging up in order to prevent the phone from ringing further, because I had overheard her take 2 different parties orders while I was on the phone trying to get attention of some sort. I’ve heard this place had bad service, but this is the first time I directly felt insulted and will not be returning.

I got there early around 7am so the service was quick. The food was good except with a name like Homefries you really should make sure your homefries are delicious. I asked for the onion ones. They were a bit plain and the onions were cooked separately and placed on top. They should be cooked together for more flavor. But all and all it was a good breakfast. ?
