We chose Hangry Kitchen, just 6 minutes from downtown. So much that I could say about the meal. But I will summarize it. I asked if I could get a side of tomato juice for my beer. (Yeah beer and tomato juice is amazing). They did not have any canned or bottled tomato juice. THEY JUICED SOME TOMATOS! The rest of the meal was just as memorable. “Cork and Rye is a regular stop on the rotation of restaurants that for me and my wife. The food has always been excellent and interesting and the staff has always been professional and accommodating. On my latest visit this evening everything was excellent across the board but when i was presented with the check it stated that I would be paying more to use my debit card than I would if I had cash. I had no indication anywhere on the website or within the restaurant that this payment scheme was going to happen until i had already eaten and asked for the check. First of all we all moved to debit payments decades ago and it was going fine until very recently when ownership of various businesses suddenly were faced with making their margins which are notoriously thin. I get that but that is not my problem. My problem is that i had no idea and I dont typically carry around bags of cash for the one off business that simply does not want to absorb the price of doing business. I had no line item after i grudgingly paid with my debit stating the extra 3-4 % for the debit use (which is considered cash normally as it comes right out of my bank account). I do feel a bit cheated and that goes to my bottom line. I have the funds to spend wherever I want and i chose to spend them here but I am seriously considering not coming back.

7/20/26...followup from the mgr stated that debit charges should reflect as cash and they were looking into why this transaction was not handled correctly.“

I think I’ve tried every combination of the menu, and have several Favorites and several custom blended favorite! My only suggestion can I buy the dressings? I would love to use them at home for my own marinades and and not is nearly as special salads!!! Having the dressing would not stop me from coming to Pokeworks at least once a week, but I would feel as if I’m eating healthier at home, and I would love to have a little pokey works in my kitchen! “More of a take out or get delivered from door dash to you its clean has long table against wall for eating and a few table and chairs a bathroom. There always busy have a lot of speacils love the buy one get one free deals when they run them or 35 percent off deals. Food is great my husband loves the number 9 I like pastrami and Swiss cheese or the italian, rice bowls are good also . I love the chicken salad with no tomato or lettuce add cranberry sauce the wraps are good also.“
