I’m in Middletown/Newport area a couple times a year for work. This is my first time, but not my last visiting Mizu.
I appreciated the attentive service and the excellent menu.
They also have a great and diverse cocktail menu of tasty beverages.
I started with their Mai tai - which was tasty and what I would call a ‘tropical Mai tai’ - good but not a traditional or historic Mai tai - iykyk.
I also had the gyoza and an order of maguro sushi that was great tasting and a good portion.
I also ordered the tenderloin hibachi. It was excellent.
My only mistake was my order of a large Asahi (beer they offered) and a large sake was delivered. I assumed it was my volume or pronunciation and settled in.
Overall great experience and I’ll be back !

Insane service. felt rushed the entire time. They immediately asked how we wanted our check and we said split down the middle. The server walked by our table multiple times staring and we were being stared at by the workers with dirty looks the whole time. The sprite tastes like soda water and the sushi was below average. We then received our food and it all tasted like miso soup and it was lukewarm. The server slammed the soup and salad bowls on the table and had a horrendous attitude the entire time. We then asked for our check (they only gave us one check even after her asking how we’d pay when we were barely settled in) she gave us our check and there was an automatic 18% gratuity without any warning. I’ve worked in restaurants and I know this is not how you treat customers. Do better.

Delicious food. I love udon soup and was not disappointed! My boyfriend loved the miso soup. Nice place and affordable. Quick service as well!
