Rooms are very small and not well maintained. Broken windows and torn screens were present in several rooms and in common areas. Needs updating and better attention to cleanliness of rooms.
Overpriced. Miss the surf hotel. I paid 15 and change for a Mocktail! It was club soda and splash of a couple other juices. 15 for an alcoholic drink is a lot but justified by the alcohol in it. NOT for club soda and a little juice or any juice! Stop the absurdity and ruining the island setting these standards. Block is such a special place and slowly but surely losing its charm with overpriced everything, loss of originality and character, and places like this.
Cancelled my summer weekend reservation due to mysterious and last minute "construction delay" _three days_ before my scheduled arrival. This is after calling me three weeks ago to verify my reservation and left the impression all was well at that point. Now they have left me with no place to stay, offered me no compensation and turns out were not forthcoming about the fact that many people were cancelled, not just me, and that the Chamber of Commerce was notified too late to...read full review
