We had an excellent meal - Risotto and Scallops. Live music, two guitar players singing at the right volume for dinner. Manager was attentive and enjoyed greeting us. Waitress was kind and effecient. Hidden Gem!
Service was great! Friendly and attentive! Food was fabulous!!Value was on the money!!Big portions for a good price!!
Delicious food and good portions . Service was good. Macy did a good job. Seating is a bit cramped in first room off the bar. We are slim athletic people and we barely had enough room even to open our menus!! We have been coming to the West Deck for 30 years and always had great meals. Reggie was very accommodating for reservations and fun to talk with!!
One of the best places we have eaten in ages - even went back for a second day Scallops are excellent Swordfish is great The “Blackfish” is out of this world! Wanna know how the cook does translucent spinach leaves - wow The desserts were great The waitstaff is superb - special shout out to Macy, the Texas firecracker!
Great service from Brian at the bar. We came back this year just for the lobster roll and it didn't disappoint. Everyone was friendly and attentive. Happy meal and we recommended it.
Would I return to this restaurant? Absolutely! Every single employee that we had contact with was extremely nice. There was a table of about 8 people, let's just say that they had been enjoying one another's company and some beverages of their choosing, were very vivacious. The staff put our party in a quiet area, our dinner was amazing. 10/10 would recommend
We had such a great dinner here! Amazing food, dinner and drinks were delicious. The service was also outstanding
Scallop risotto, amazing and delicious. Learned I didn't like shrimp scampi but they executed it very well just my personal preference. Oysters Rockefeller were delicious. Amazing, friendly, hilarious staff.
Overall a good experience at The Deck. It's not a fancy spot, but the service was friendly, the food was solid, and the value was good for Newport. The real highlight is the location — right on the water with great views of all the beautiful boats docked nearby. Definitely worth a visit if you want a relaxed atmosphere by the harbor, though I wouldn't call it a five-star dining experience.
Our server was lovely and attentive. The food is just OK, and they could make some simple improvements—like better French fries. Unsalted kinda cold, like they'd been sitting. The band was fun.

Good spot for live music and a very casual dinner by the water. Good alcoholic drink options but not a lot of options for nonalcoholic folks ( I'm 15 weeks pregnant). Good hot lobster roll with a good portion of lobster.
We had a wonderful dinner and stayed after for great music and dancing. The food was fantastic as was the service. Highly recommend a dinner here.
Our server was lovely and the location was kind of nice - being dockside next to all the boats. The food was pretty bad though and expensive for what you got. My cocktail was not good either. Would not recommend. Would not go back.
Macy was great, very attentive Reggie was also fantastic, made us feel comfortable and right at home. Good selection!
I came to The Deck last night with a friend. The appetizers started off promising we tried the calamari and crab cakes, which were good. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. The menu was very limited, with most entrées being pasta-based. They also charge an extra $13 for sides, which felt steep. I ordered the shrimp scampi, but the portion was so small it wouldn't fill up a toddler. The pasta had zero seasoning, like it was taken straight from the pot to the plate, and the shrimp, while cooked properly, tasted like it had just been tossed in plain butter. Completely flavorless. My friend even asked for salt and pepper to try to salvage it, but it needed much more than that. I ended up sending it back. Our server who was honestly a sweetheart suggested I try something else and offered the lobster roll. The best part of it was the Hawaiian roll it was sitting on. Again, flavorless. I ended up just eating the fries with some ketchup. The drinks were no better. I ordered a Moscow Mule, but it tasted like vodka and water. I had to squeeze lime into it just to make it drinkable. For dessert, my friend had the brownie with vanilla ice cream, which was actually really good probably the highlight of the night. I ordered the lava cake, but it turned out to taste like chocolate mousse mixed with raw flour. In the end, we left feeling like we had overpaid for food we couldn't even eat. Great service, but the food and drinks definitely need major improvement.
