The rooms felt very dusty and unclean. Our bathroom trash had not been emptied before our arrival and there were still cleaning supplies in the bathroom as if they hadn’t finished. The young lady at the front desk was very accommodating about that however. Overall I would not stay here again and wished we had found other lodging.

Unfortunately I had a horrible stay at this hotel.

The rooms were musky, and extremely dirty.

Be advised; the bathroom has black mold growing all over the ceiling...

(And the lady who manages the joint didn't want to change our room!)

How shamefully embarrassing.

To make matters worse,

I ordered the room on hotel.com for me my wife and our 2 year old baby. The lady brought us the breakfast and left it outside of our door it only had 2 pastries and 2 yogurts. When I asked for one more for my child, the lady wanted an additional $25 because the baby wasn't listed as one of the guests.

I was in awe, I'm a business owner and I would never do such a petty despicable act to a customer, how classless and stupid.

You're going to destroy your reputation for a $2 pastry?

We originally had a reservation for 3 nights but I canceled and we left after the first day...

We had a lovely stay at Bouchard Inn. From checking in to checking out it was a wonderful experience. The Lilac room offered perfect accommodations for myself and my three daughters. A delicious breakfast was delivered to our room each morning and our mini fridge remained stocked with water, milk and orange juice. The location is perfect with on-site parking for convenience.
We also had the pleasure of dining at Chanterelles and it exceeded my expectations. The food is DELICIOUS. Carmen and the restaurant wait staff go above and beyond to make it a most exquisite and memorable experience. ?

We were blown away with how great our stay was. The inn staff were beyond accommodating and understanding. We had a few requests bc of having an 18 month old with us and they were so helpful. The pastries was so delicious I couldn’t believe it. People complained about it not being enough I’m not sure how much more you need than a yogurt with fruit and a large filled homemade pastry..? The Alberta suite was perfect for a family. Will stay here every time we go to Newport!

Also- we got SO nervous about the noise after booking and then reading reviews…. Please… maybe other rooms are noisier, and yes at times we could hear some faint street noise… but no. This was not a noisy inn. We could see the water from our room too! Added bonus.

My only complaint was the people in the TSK restaurant were SOOO RUDE!!!!!!!! Insanely rude. I know it’s not part of Bouchard but made me really upset as it was attached to our room

We had a fantastic time at Bouchard Inn! These days, the little things really make a difference - they stocked the fridge with water/milk/orange juice, and they brought breakfast to our door in the morning, which was some delicious pastries and yogurt parfaits! If you are really sensitive to outside noise then do note that this is in a busy part of Newport, so although the hotel does provide ear plugs and noise machines, there can be loud noise outside from neighboring restaurants that are open until ~1 am. Regardless, that didn't bother us too much and the rooms/service/location made up for it - highly recommend!

This Inn is located right on Thames Street walkable to many restaurants & shops, the wharf, mansions, etc. The Inn also is home to one of Newport’s best restaurants, Chanterelle. The Inn has a small parking lot plus 3 spots on the street for its guests. One car per guest room. That is a definite plus.
We stayed in the Harbor House in the Brittany Suite. The price average to $470 per night. I liked the convenience of using a code to get into the front door of the building and also the individual rooms. No key card or key to lose. Our suite was located on the first floor of Harbor House. You walk into the bedroom area and then there is a sitting area complete with a little kitchen area and further back is the bathroom. The closet was extremely small and there was no room on one side of the bed for a nightstand which was inconvenient for the person on that side of the bed. The kitchen area had a cooktop, microwave, little sink and refrigerator. The refrigerator was stocked daily with juice, milk & water. There were utensils & dishes to use, but there was no skillet/pan to use on the cooktop so it wasn’t really usable without a pan. Every morning, a yogurt parfait and a fresh baked pastry was dropped at the door for breakfast. Upon check-in, there was a note on our file that I cannot have nuts or seeds. I thought that was wonderful that they remembered, and I reiterated that restriction includes berries like strawberries, blackberries, and raspberries with Anna who greeted us. Unfortunately, every parfait that was delivered had berries in it. I wish they would’ve just stuck with bananas and blueberries in mine so I wouldn’t have to fish out the fruit that I couldn’t eat to give to my husband. Also, there were some pastries I couldn’t eat because they had nuts or seeds in them. Although it was great that they put a note on my file, the Inn forgot to honor it. When I brought it to their attention about day 5 of my stay, they were very apologetic and said that they would make sure that my food didn’t have nuts or seeds. The very next morning I received a parfait with strawberries and a warm almond croissant, which my husband ate along with his because I could not have it. Ugh! I was surprised for the price I paid for a week at this establishment that my request was not honored. I also thought it would be nice if a couple pastries were savory like with eggs. Other than the couple negatives, the location was great, having a spot to park was good, having a refrigerator stocked with beverages was great, having breakfast delivered to your room was great, the larger room was great and finally, housekeeping was good. I would definitely stay here again and I do recommend this Inn for the positive things I’ve mentioned.

Bouchard Inn was really cute and the croissant/yogurt brought to us every morning was nice. O'briens being literally outside our window was pretty loud on Saturday night. I woke up out of a dead sleep with Justin Timberlake blaring on their patio. So I turned the AC unit on to drown out the noise.
The complimentary ear plugs and noise machine should have given me a clear warning lol. Location is great though, right on Thames and walkable to everywhere. I'd stay again!
Only other negative was that they didn't provide conditioner.. Only 2 shampoos in the shower, which is weird... Another review mentions this as well.

Rooms: Room was spacious, good water pressure in the shower. King bed was comfy!

Nearby activities: Walkable to restaurants and shops, right outside your door.

Walkability: Right on thames, right outside the door are shops and restaurants and can walk to the water

An amazing meal that typifies Chanterelle! Specials of Artic Char Crudo and Veal Chop deserve specific mention. Char had a wonderful combination of flavors and textures - velvety char, citrus, and salmon roe for a touch of salt and pop. Veal was perfectly prepared in a veal reduction with a touch of cream and green pepper corns. Paired with sauteed spinach for - great! Regular menu items of steak tartare, lobster ravioli and octopus continue to impress. As always Dan - our captain - and Ben our server hit all the perfect notes and make an evening at Chanterelle the truly special experience that it is.

We dined at Chantetelle last night, which is part of the Bouchard Inn where we are staying for the week. This restaurant is romantic and quiet with French music setting the mood. We enjoyed a 2021 Domaine Drouhin Pinot Noir with our dinner. My husband and I shared two appetizers, the beef tartare and the lobster raviolo. Outstanding! The beef tartare was so fresh and flavorful. Unfortunately, there were only two pieces for $19. The lobster raviolo was filled with mascarpone and lobster topped with trout row. Decadent. One ravioli priced at $21. I had the Dover soul with almond sauce ($64) and hubby had the roasted duck ($34) for entrees. Both perfect in every way. Our friends who recommended Chanterelle suggested that we order the Grand Marnier soufflé when we ordered our dinner because we shouldn't miss out on this dessert and it takes some time to bake the soufflé. Oh my goodness...I have never tasted something so divine, creamy and luscious. Silk on my tongue. The service from Nick and the young lady assisting was spot on. It is an expensive restaurant but I think worth the $$$$ Just be aware of the cost so you're not surprised. I've dined at Alinea in Chicago which is a 3 Michelin star restaurant ranked 9th on the World's 50 Best Restaurants list, and Chanterelle might be my 2nd most favorite restaurant after Alinea. Fine dining at its best!

Was a recommendation from the concierge at our hotel. Simple put --- this place is a must! From start to finish this restaurant team knocks it out of the park... The service was on point without being intrusive. The food was classic & delicious. (really good) Ambiance was comfortable and warm. And let's not get started on dessert. A+ Well done. Thank you Chanterelle.

Our waiter Max was not friendly or welcoming. I noticed he was like that with other customers except for one table whom he must have known. His serving partner whose name I forget, was very attentive. She saved the night. Overall the restaurant was divine . But the service was disappointing.

This restaurant my wife and I consider it the best restaurant by far in Newport RI When it comes down to service we always ask for Dan to be our waiter:he's the best very nice and friendly .

Went for a special occasion and was extremely pleased with the experience. Service was friendly and attentive. Food was delicious, especially loved the caviar appetizer and dover sole. And never miss the soufflé for dessert! Also had excellent cocktails. Highly recommend.

Very lovely restaurant. Attentive service , however slow to remove finished plates and glasses. Very limited menu. There were four of us for dinner two had Dover sole , one steak and the other duck. The Dover sole was served luke warm . The meat and duck were excellent.
