We just enjoyed a late lunch that was absolutely delicious! The lobster bisque was a great starter but the lobster Mac and cheese was the BEST we’ve ever had. Giant chunks of lobster were buried amongst the creamy noodles. We shared the lobster dish and it was plenty. \nThe fresh cod/ Fish-n-chips was also excellent, flaky light white fish. We waited 45 mins for our table, while sipping hot spiced cider - the food was well worth the wait.
The atmosphere was okay, and the server was nice. The food wasn’t the best I’ve had in Newport. I was expecting the fish and chips to be great, but it wasn’t. The pasta tasted like something from the Cheesecake Factory.
This bustling landmark in the heart of Newport has been feeding locals and tourists for over four decades. Many are repeat customers, and now I know why. My dining companion was very pleased with the salad buffet and clam chowder, and I had some truly outstanding chicken and waffles, a personal favorite.
