Empire Tea & Coffee is a cute place in a great location in Newport, convenient for starting the day. The store has quite a bit of room with comfortable couches and pleasant, lively seating inside. It offers a cool atmosphere and a great setup for working, with plenty of seating, room, and outlets.
The menu is not huge but what they do, they do right. The coffee is excellent, with a refreshing Dulcato and delicious cold brew. For food, the BEC sandwich is solid and the Caprese sandwich is awesome. One reviewer highly recommends a sesame bagel breakfast sandwich with bacon, egg, avocado, tomato, and bacon habinero sauce, calling it the best ever. Pastries and scones are also available, and they offer a fun seasonal option for St. Patrick's day. They have dog biscuits and can make a pup cup.
