Delicious and authentic Italian food. It was a bit slow to get our food but I’m not taking stars away because they had a full house! We had the clams and mussels appetizer which was made with what seemed like a homemade marinara sauce - yum! Also had the shrimp and scallops entree with egg noodles and it was very tasty. Definitely recommend this cozy local business for Italian food! Good to note is they are very vegetarian friendly as well.

Food was just ok, our server was terrible, she had the personality of a damp sponge and no manners. Acted like we were bothered by us. Changed from veggies side to pasta side and was charged $11 to substitute. There are better choices, wouldn’t go back.

BEWARE- first let me begin by saying we have been many times without any issues, it has always been a pleasure. Tonight however was extremely disappointing, we were a party of 5; two of us had the veal special, and both agreed it was chewy and very small, cost $33 for the veal & vegetable. I opted to add pasta to my entree($12 upcharge for literally a half cup of pasta) and they didn’t even give me the vegetable. Our friends each had pasta dishes and my husband got a chicken dish. We ordered a bottle of red & white wine, soup, appetizers and desserts. We had the Newport dining club card (typically you get a free entree) but we were told the entire table must order pasta to get the free entree? What?! Dining book says free entree must be pasta, okay we got a pasta? That makes absolutely no sense, we spent more money on “meat dishes” so if we had ordered less expensive pasta dishes then a pasta dish would be free? We literally spend hundreds of dollars, well in excess of $50 per person and they would not honor a free pasta dish. VERY misleading, VERY poor way to retain local customers, sadly very little chance we will be returning soon or recommending despite years of loyal patronage. Note- other local businesses in the book honor a free entree, no problem.

The esotica salad was wonderful with a dressing we couldn't get enough of. The portion of tuna was large and cooked perfectly and the Veal Scalppine is always a reason to return. All the food here is wonderful, but the staff are too which always makes a meal unforgettable. Looking forward to returning.

Overall very good. Expensive for what you get but very tasty. Very fast on service but didn't feel rushed . Deserts are way over priced for something they get at restaurant depot.

Nice quaint find. Typical Italian style decor with pictures of individuals (possible Mama Luisa) on the wall. Food fresh and authentic, not drenched in sauces or overpowered with anyone seasoning. Would certainly visit again.

This was a great restaurant to celebrate my girlfriend and I's anniversary. We love italian food, especially places that take the time to give you a good experience. Complimenting your choices, suggesting wine, conversing over where we are from... just a very romantic and welcoming place to have a meal! Roses at every table, probably for this month. Tucked away in a neighborhood, truly a gem and would love to go back!!

Wow! What a wonderful night we had at this precious restaurant. The small room with cozy seating, dim enough lights and beautiful decor, was only eclipsed by the incredible food. It was one of the nicest dining out nights I can remember.

We had a delightful dinner at Mama Luisa's. The food, service and ambiance were excellent. And our server Robert was knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed the evening and look forward to our next visit.

What an unexpected surprise this quaint Italian restaurant was! My party and I came over from the Bodhi Spa with empty stomachs, and left the restaurant with empty plates. The food was absolutely delicious and generous portions! I cannot wait to come back and gorge myself on the fresh pasta again!

Everything was lovely until we felt rushed by our waitstaff. We did not want to rush from finishing our entrees to dessert, yet we could feel the "attitude" when we asked for a few more minutes. When the table was cleared we realized that she had taken our bread but did not ask us if we wanted to take it with us. After we were finished we asked to purchase a bread service. As you will see on the menu, that is $2. We thought we would get the same bread service (about 8 slices with butter pats), however that is not what we got - we got 4 slices in a brown bag. The key here is that your food can be lovely but your waitstaff must be equally "lovely" and courteous.

I made a reservation on a Thursday for a Friday night. I was not going to make that reservation at 530p early on Friday as I am a nurse and knew I was going to be getting out late that night due to the acuity of my unit. I tried to call but they were not open until 4 to change the reservation. I was driving up from Boston so I had to know if we would have a place to eat as I am not from around the area. I was going to just plan to call but instead decided to make another reservation on the website for 630p. I still call at 4p when they opened to release the other reservation so they can fill it. They charged me 25$ per person in my party for that reservation after I ate there. This took place the week of Christmas. Who does that? I just wanted to change the time of the reservation and they gave me no other option in the short term to do so as they were closed. I tried to be nice and call. I still went and ate there.
